To be or not to be

With the talk of what my new friend is wanting in life, it has given me a little anxiety since what she wants is what I want. But then I'm not sure I can go through with all that. It's just how my history has gone. I've had only 2 serious relationships in my life. The girl I grew up with and the older lady I stayed with even after she got married. So basically other than being with someone who eventually became my step sister, I haven't been in a serious relationship longer than about 6 months. Except being the side piece.

It's going to be new to me if I decide to go with it. I know it's still in the early stages but she really likes me and I think she's pretty amazing too. I'm sure in time I will be willing to take up what her dream is but right now looking into the future it's terrifying. I know. Take it slow and live in the now. That's what I'm doing. We're going out tonight and our typical pool night tomorrow. We're spending a lot of time together.

so i dont think it ever wont be scary, its change, humans dont do well with change at all. the thing is though we are good at risk vs reward. So really the question you will have to ask yourself in the end is "is she and what you have with her worth the risk?" if the answer is yes then the rest isnt as important. If the answer is without a doubt no, then thats the answer. My recommendation is talk to her. She wants kids, thats fine, theres time for that (a lot of time for that) it doesnt have to be tomorrow and you should be able to feel free to say "hey i am not saying no, but deff not right now" let her know you arent completely against the concept but at this moment in your life that isnt what you want right now. She should be able to understand that if she is the right one. If it was a hard no on your end then you already know what that end is but as you said you arent against it completely just right now you are, and that should be okay. its a huge life change and one you both would need to plan for together.

Thanx WW. That's what I was thinking too. I did tell her before I'm not against having kids. I would be happy either way. It's just something to think about that she is a definitely hard yes to kids. You should think so. She deals with many of them at work and happens to be able to round up more than a dozen 8/9 year Olds. I'm sure she could keep me in line. Lol.
