Tired of this quality of life

I've been home for almost two months now.  My daily activities are severely limited due to my pain.  I started seeing a therapist today for the first time and she commented that she knew the moment she looked at me that I was suffering from depression.  That didn't make me feel very good.  I never thought it was visible to other people!  I'm worried about my job.  I felt like my place at work was important and now someone else is in my place, handling my job.  I worry that if I can't return before 6 months is up that they will let me go.  My partner is worried and although she hides it well, I know she is suffering, too.  I keep encouraging her to make plans with friends so that she can escape once in awhile, but so far she spends all of her free time stuck in this apartment with me.  I know that back problems are just my lot in life, but when its at this level, it is really hard to cope.  Life is literally passing me by right now.  Every day is spend browsing the internet, social medias sites, watching TV, or playing some game on my phone.  I live to travel and I had to cancel my trip to Japan that was scheduled on 11/06.  My adult son has been in and out of trouble with drugs and I can't even visit him every week when I'm like this.  I know its important to stay close to him and I can't.  If something doesn't get better soon, I'm not sure what my state of mind will end up being.  I'm having a 3rd injection in two days and I'm praying that by some miracle, it actually works.  If not, then next week I see the surgeon to discuss a 2nd back surgery.  Yes, I've actually been through all of this before (only 4 short years ago).  I spent 9 months out of work trying different treatments for severe sciatica on my other side and ended up having a discectomy.  I knew my back wouldn't just be ok for the rest of my life, but I thought it would be longer than 4 years before I would be facing a serious issue again.  Anyway, I know this support site won't heal my back, but maybe someone else who understands where I'm at might offer some advice or just a kind word.  Maybe I might be able to offer that to someone else, too.
