Tired and Frustrated
After my last entry I continued for 2 more days and endless time on the phone with Both Advantage plan and Amerihealth (which was secondary back-up). them my insurance woman, then Rite-Aid. Each call was about an hour and a half and each one pushed the buck. Last I heard was from Rite Aid to tell me that Amerihealth claimed that original Medicare part B should cover this and if any balance they would take care of it. This same thing is what happened to my insulin cost.
Friday an old schoolmate stopped by and we had a ball. We hadn't seen each other for probably 40 years so we caught up and yacked it up for 5 hrs. Her husband called to tell her something and he was funny... said the two of us were really rowdy and riled up. I decided I was not going to waste the rest of another day bouncing on the phone calls. I remembered that years ago I had gotten pen tips from Walmart for like $3. My new plan was just got to the pharmacy after work on Saturday,
Went in on Saturday and was a day from hell. There was another manager there and a teenager (who's very good) who came in at 8am. Even he was overwhelmed as time went on since we had so much to do. Our load was jimungous. The plan was to get it all checked in and put away (but he was also loading and putting out to fill holes. ) Our produce dm was in but just for a smalll time. We were busy and as time went on I was helping him to get caught up from the day before (though we never really did). I told him I would stay til noon (an extra hour) and I did. I could have stayed longer because I knew there was so much left to do but physically I couldn't handle it. I was so tired and hurt that I put off getting the needles til Sunday (this morning). They cost me $10 ( with inflation makes sense) My insurance woman sent a link from the guy at Amerihealth to put in request with receipts from Rite-Aid to be reimbursed for overpayment. I'm just TIRED of all this bull shit (forgive me but I'm mad) There seems to be a magic link to my part B. and I am tired of trying to follow the cookie crumbs to find it.

I guess you have to go back to the drawing board on insurance considering all this bs....
I always wondered how people who were too sick to spend hours on the phone with insurance companies, got anything covered. I guess maybe that’s what these insurance companies hope for that people just give up I remember spending hours in the phone over dental coverage with Medicaid they cover very little and take years literally to decide. It’s just plain wrong
My part d is Wellcare and they are getting kicked to the curb. They suck. They deny me medication changes, like the doctor adding one more pill so the new script is to cover the one more pill. I am on a low dose. They refuse to fill it, it isn't time. I call and politely complain and demand they allow the "override" and then they agree. I got to Walgreens and Wellcare has not done the override two days later. I end up paying with Good RX. I will change my part d for 2025 and get a better company. I have never had a health insurance refuse to allow an increase in a dosage of a medication. They also refuse to allow a common muscle relaxer that I get one a day of. Insisted I take one that is really for MS. That one was a nightmare, take it at night and then I had insomnia. Awake all night. Good grief. I could have my doctor do a complaint to the state insurance board and they would have a doctor override it and then Wellcare has to provide it. But this year has been hell and I don't have the energy to fight over this. I just used GoodRx. That former muscle relaxer is also now on Good RX (cheap cheap cheap). I hate Wellcare. I hope you get this straightened out. I am sorry, I feel you, I have the same crap as you do with these companies.
Your story about your frustrations dealing with health insurance, is actually quite common.....I wish health care in the USA was a right like it is in the rest of the world...even in communist countries!.......
Just spent more time checking with BAD results. I believe I am done trying to work to make ends meet. I will make out better to get full aid
