Time to go, but when?
My dear peeps, what can I say at this juncture of my life? My aunt has Alzheimer's and its progressed to 2nd or 3rd stage by now. We just found out last Thursday, she has terminal cancer. She, fortunately, is unaware of all this, but we are not. I've been sitting by the phone waiting for the last call and keeping all the family informed of her condition. We now await the inevitable. Praying for God's mercy to let her pass peacefully and comfortably as is possible. Please keep the family in prayer as this is splitting the family in pieces. One side wants ALL MEASURES TAKEN TO KEEP HER ALIVE and the other is saying LET HER GO IN PEACE, DON'T TORTURE HER ANYMORE. So, you can see the chasm this has created.
My dear uncle, has dementia and knows she isn't well but to what extent, we are unsure. He seems to think she is going to have "surgery" at the hospital and will be "fine". He can have a massive heart attack at any moment as well with his health.
It may sound horrid, but those of us on the side of "it's time" are praying they both go together so their suffering will end.
They are both Christians, have made their peace with God and are ready, by their own admission, to meet Him.
Heaven would be so much better for them both. However, I keep seeing them in my mind as they were when I was growing up. In my mind, they have remained 50 yrs old and healthy. Odd, isn't it how our memories work? I still see them as vibrant, healthy, laughing, playing cards with me, etc. Yet, in reality, I know they are not.
I do not want my aunt and uncle suffering physically but still do not wish them gone. And it is gone. Death for a Christian is merely a change of address, not the end, just a relocating of where they live. Except in Heaven, they live forever, healthy, happy, joyfully, and peacefully free from all harm.
Think of us please, pray, and know I send each of you my love & hugs......

I do understand how you feel. I had similiar feelings when my parents were old and slowly dieing. It hurts us to lose them, but it hurts them to stay You and yours will all be in my prayers today and know God understads so much better than we do. In these situations it is easy to pray...\"Thy will be done.\"
Love ya,
Nan
Yes, my aunt is in God\'s hand. I know He will be able to care for her better than I or anyone else could. I know that He has a reason for each breath that she is given....if nothing else to teach us grace, mercy, and patience.
