Time to get a real job

For the last 3 months or so, I have been spending more money then I have coming in.  Not by choice.  I have cut corners wherever possible. I am even skipping some meals to save money.
True, I have had a few sales lately but the money is gone as soon as I make it.
My car needs work. I am behind on my auto insurance. I could use a more reliable telephone (currently using a lifeline phone which gets little no signal where I live. They give out the cheapest phones they have just so we won't use it, I believe) I have been using my ex's phone so much, she wants me to pay her bill. I have probably lost customers do to having an unreliable phone.
I am in debt to credit cards about $1300.  My credit is shot.  I am depressed.  It will be hard finding a job.  I am 59 years old and I have limited abilities and a bad back.
I applied for disabilty about a year ago and I was turned down so I gave up.
I thought about applying for voc rehab again but that will take time.  Last time I applied it was awful.  I was married at the time and the process took so long that my wife was nagging me constantly about using gas to go to all the meetings I had to attend.  Finally I just stopped going so I wouldn't have to listen to constant bitching. That was about 3 years ago.  Now, I don't even think it is worth the trouble to reapply.
I need to spend money on my tools and on my shop if I want to keep going.  The floor needs to be jacked up again, and my planer, cutoff saw, and air compressor will need to be replaced in the near future.
I am usually good at seeing a light at the end of the tunnel, but I don't see any today, and thats depressing.
I am usually an optimist but I don't see a reason to be one today.
God, please open a door for me, somewhere!
I don't know what to do :(

I am so sorry you have to go through this! My heart goes out to you You are a very dear friend of mine and it is sad to see you go down hill. I know what you mean about more money going out than coming in. Sorry your c redit is shot, so is mine. I want to give you some advice, I applied for Social Security and I had to get a lawyer to help me get through the process to get the process of getting Social Security. It was one of them things that when I had to get a lawyer that I would pay back if I won my case. It was great and now I am on Social Security. I hope you can find a great lawyer to help you. Hugs,

I have a disability attorney too,and even she said that being denied once, and it takes most people considerable time after that to get approved. I went to Vocational Rehab here, and it was a joke. I took their tests hand spent money on gas, but the lady went on vacation and it became a nightmare. I have heard so many good things about rehab, but it didn\'t work out for me here. Now, the rehab also can help you find jobs right away verses paying for college for you. You might check into that. I hope your rehab is different than the one here. So many people brag, but certainly not the case where I live.

Age does play a part getting jobs, however, since you are educated and so on, I hope they look at that. Again, Bob, please don\'take it that disability will that it will take you as long as I am struggling or that your rehab is the same as here, just telling you what is going on with me. Hugs

I hope things change for the better for you. My disability was just suspended .Now I have to fight to get it back. They only gave me like a weeks notice. We just need to keep fighting as discouraging as it can be.
