Time Off
Just as the boss put in his notice I had requested to use a week's vacation. (because of disabilty I can only use so much for 1 week or will affect my income) Every time I have tried up until now there has always been a crisis and they still scheduled me so I never really made a dent in it. Also did it last week when I wanted to just take 1 day. So this week he offered to just give me 2 days so I could use some time. Next week he will be gone but has to make a schedule before he goes. I did tell the store manager this morning that I requested htis and even though they are not telling us what is going on that I am still taking this because there is always a crisis. he was very nice about it.
So I have to work this Saturday but then am off the entire next week and don't go back until the following Monday. I plan on not even thinking about work (although I will be updated by my coworker I'm sure) I'll try to get some of my stuff done and am planning on finding some things to do for myself.
I got my new handbook for Medicare 2025. I can hardly wait as this year's is doing such a fine job for me. (very frowny, angry face here)
This Thursday I am stopping in at work to say goodbye and wish boss well with his new job. (May bake something) Friday an old friend from high school is stopping by the apt to visit.Something to look forward to.

that is nice of the boss to give you a week off......and nice of you to make him something to launch his new career choice.....sweets from the sweetie.....hehehe
medicare is changing my plan this year so I am going to jump off the Aetna Ship this year....they really cut back on key items I am in need on glasses and also other things......I do use my AA sponsor who is an insurance broker and can sell almost any policy from any company......I trust him but some times not happy with his choice of choices......so this year again I am going to ask him to sit down with me and my med list and doctors list and we shall see what he comes up with....sometimes they might push the thing that has the highest commission for them but it is not all brokers who do that and if they respect you as a friend they should help rather than push to make money.....
Speaking of medicare. At the time I became eligible for it, A friend talked me into getting a Medicare advantage plan...Looking back, that was a mistake. The drugs I was getting at the time were much cheaper from Goodrx.com then the copays my insurance would have had me pay! So now I have to remind the pharmacist not to use my insurance or I will end up paying more. I can't say enough good things about Goodrx which, co-incidently was started by the same person who started DS. If you want to see what our founder looks like, here is one of their earlier commercials:

I hope you spend some of your free time, splurging on yourself and loving yourself. You deserve it because you are worthy!...hugs...
jump on jet come visit me and the arch.....
I am so glad you spoke up for yourself and set boundaries. The boundary was saying you deserve this and have gotten screwed in the past so this time, you want the whole week. Proud of you.
I have the worst Part D company and hate them. I call to get them to override their denial of adding one more dose of the non-narcotic med for pain per day. I hate them! All year long, they have been awful. I chose them on the medicare website because the company said all my meds were on their formulary. Turns out, they lied. Off my soapbox. now.
Glad you have plans for social time. I am going to PT in a few minutes. Not fun.
Bob, I am having to use Good Rx for all the prescription denials from this part D company and we also found the Medicare Advantage plans to not cover anything nor any doctor took them where I live. Some people do well on them where they live but here it is denial city. Because I am a high user of healthcare unfortunately, I started on original Medicare from the get go. I worked in hospitals as a social worker for a while and the MA denials were a constant problem. MA was set up to be cheaper for the government than original Medicare. Big push in the Affordable Care Act to increase MA plans (it was started before that) to save money on Medicare. The insurance companies offer so many perks with MA, like glasses, or dental work, because they deny everything else. Or they have no eye doctors taking their plan, for example, no dentists taking it. So they can offer the perks but then the patient can't actually use it. I got so frustrated trying to find home PT companies for people on those MA plans, we would have something like 2-3 to pick from and had to set it up before the patient could be discharged and it was always hurry hurry hurry.
