Time means nothing.......

Yesterday I planned to celebrate my Colleen's birthday by taking her picture with me, and having a chocolate milkshake somewhere..........just her and me. I arranged with my older daughter to use her car. Then, when it was time to go, I couldn't! My whole body started trembling, and I felt like I was going to faint. So I just stayed home.....

Not one member of my family remembered my precious Colleen. They discarded her memory, on the day that she was buried. And I have become invisible to them. Thank you to each one of my precious sisters here on DS!! You understand, and walk this road with with me!! I could never have coped without your love, understanding and support. Sorry that I am not very supportive lately.

Grateful hugs to you all! xxx

I am so sorry Andelene. It hurts so much when it seems like our babies are forgotten. Colleen will always be remembered and loved here. Love and tight hugs,

Andelene, I think most of our families react the same way. They dont feel the pain and loss that is embedded in our very souls at the loss of our child, so they move on with their lives and dont give us a second thought. It is very hurtful to us but, alas, inevitable. Love and hugs, Katrina

I know that you might not have spent the day with Colleen in the way that you had planned, yet you tapped into what was best for you and honored it. There is nothing more courageous than being able to do that dear friend.

I know that most of us can align with once our children shed their earth suits they are no longer remembered in the ways that a mother\'s heart remembers. That is why I believe we land here... To hear our children\'s names, to have others ask how we are doing and feeling, and to learn about one another\'s children. These are the heart tethers that bind us.

Your presence here is ALL that matters and it is enough... More than enough. Please do not apologize for what you are able to give as everyone here understands. That is truly the gift and beauty of FMO as there are no expectations, only healing hopefully to feel.

Gentle, gentle care and that milkshake will be shared with Colleen on another day and if anyone understands your heart it IS your precious daughter.

Hand in hand and Heart to heart,
XO Joanie

I think you are very supportive here. It is so disappointing when the ones closest to us and closest to our children do not remember the birthdays and Heaven days. I guess when you love someone with your whole heart, it is just too hard not to remember these days. You did the best you could to honor your sweet child and for that I am sure she is grateful! These days can still be so painful. Sending hugs of compassion, Leda
