Time flies...
Time flies... life goes on... Fourth anniversary of my divorce is in early February. It actually feels longer than that because its so far behind me. I don't think of it much. Sure I remember some of the good times and recall them to my daughter. I remember the bad times and just roll my eyes. I still see my ex-w at my daughters sports events and we work on trading nights and such. Everything works out fine unless money comes up. I submitted a dentist bill to her to pay half and she starts crabbing about minor things, over email. I don't even get into it... I don't really don't care.
Lots has happened since my last posts. Events with my daughter. Dates with various ladies. Home projects. New job.
Last summer my ex-w was seeing a mutual friend of ours, which I didn't mind, since he has pretty good character (I told people the best bf she's had). Well, he dumped her after a month or so. His name came up a few weeks ago and she got visibly upset I've spoken with him. Too bad, its a small city. And when it comes to the singles scene its even smaller. It turns out we go to many of the same places to socialize (especially a popular bar among middle class 40-somethings). Almost every local woman I date knows her in some ways too. My current interest grew up my ex's neighbor. It just is what it is.
I don't know who is active anymore of my friends here, or what is going on. I'm sorry I fell away from here. I credit the support I received from this website as one of the keys to getting past my divorce, and fairly quickly, relative to some people. But as I moved on and re-discovered life I gradually forgot about here.
It was only a bit ago that I recommended this forum to someone else, that I rediscovered it, and saw it had changed in layout. It looks nice, though I definitely am not used to it.
If anyone new to this website or the divorce/separation/breakup and relationship forums I used to be so actice in I welcome you and can say you've found a great place. Journal your feelings, share your experiences and feelings, practice NC, use positive affirmations, and before you know it you will be reborn. Life really does go on. You will have new and wonderful experiences. Some of these things would not have happened in your previous life, and don't feel guilty about that, but feel blessed.
Merry Christmas to all.
