Ticking time bomb
I feel like a ticking time bomb. I just don't know if im going to be ok or blow up. my case pass out. I went home a little early yesterday I worked through my sugar being low in the 60s and rollercoastering up then going down. I'm so tired of hearing I need to eat. I had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches , turkey and cheese, nuts, and more plain peanut butter milk and juice and it still dropped to 64 . I called the doctor all she could say was for some reason my body was producing too much insulin. no idea why. still haven't heard about the A1c test results im sure its ok most of my test are. Im starting to get depressed I have no control over my body I feel like everyone thinks im full of it. I make people watch me eat and watch me check my sugar so they know im not lying. And the whole time I know they are not really thinking that way. the other nurse that works came in early yesterday and I was eating plain peanut butter about a hour latter I checked my sugar and it was 73 I was like see im not making it up. she watched me eat and check my sugar . I could have cried I was like what more am I suppose to do. today im going to make sure I eat something high in protein and good carbs every 2 hours and hopefully it does not make me sick. I have been keeping records of what I eat how I feel and what my sugar is during the day. I just want to scream at them and say this is not food related. If it was then I would have had this problem long long ago. I woke up today with a headach. I don't feel the best but I told myself to try and work I really need the money. the glucogon kit was 50.00 the blood sugar meter was 25.00 and going to the doctor was 25.00 all money I really did not have to hand out. I wish I wouldn't have gotten the glucogon kit filled I didn't know it would be so much. I may never use it. and when I read the directions it said if you had addisons or tumors in your pancrease to consult a pharmacist or doctor. we'll I don't know if I have that I could im being tested for it. so what happened if I do use it? im scared to death. STRESS is not helping. stress of not being able to work, not knowing what is wrong with me, stress people don't believe me.

Autumn leaf, I\'ve had the hypoglycemia associated with Addison\'s for 40 yrs. I\'m going to respond to your journal in the order written. Yo yo blood sugar. Obviously you know Protein is your new best friend. I supplement half of my daily dose with Six Star brand 100% Whey protein gel. 20mg of protein!! You will find this product at Walmart, only costs 2 bucks a pouch. You are producing too much insulin. You have the exact same version of hypoglycemia that I have. In a glucose tolerance test when sugar is added to your system your pancreas over produces insulin, driving blood sugar levels down. Eating processed sugar is not the way to handle it. Try a small glass of orange juice with protein. Fruits are a natural source of sugar to pull you out of the slump and the protein is a perfect follow up act to keep it stable. You\'re not any more out of control than all the other humans on the planet. Think about it. We\'re all floating in outer space taking our free trips around the sun together. Glad you held off on screaming at your peanut gallery. You are right the low blood sugar is a disease however the only way to live with it in harmony is a diet. When I first found out I had it I was very very sick with it. If you follow the diet and exchange some of the foods with a high protein meal replacement or isolated protein you should be feeling better in a couple of months from now. I\'m not familiar with the kit mentioned. In my opinion, seeing a nutritionalist would be better. If there is any way you could take a month off from work, I would. Right now trying to get the upper hand of all that\'s going on in your body is a full time job. Big cyber hug to you.
I wish i could get some time off right now im trying to get down to 8 hour shifts instead of 10. I know 50 60 hour weeks are not helping. Some days i can eat drink and be merry other times im so busy i cant eat at all or its just snack stuff like nuts and
cheese and protein shakes. I got yogurt and peanut butter just seems like the harder i try it dosent work. But im sure it takes time
You\'re doing a great job. Your crying in the right direction! You\'re passionate about getting well. That\'s a very good thing indeed!! I noticed an earlier journal post about gaining weight. My dexamethasone circular has weight gain as a side effect. What I like about Protein meal replacements and the protein gel I mentioned (which has 0 calories) is giving the body what it really needs without consuming a bunch of extra calories. It took me 3 months before my body stopped being erratic. The body is still learning how to use carbohydrates and protein as it\'s new sugar source.
As for your peeps, when you get to feeling better you\'ll see they were only trying to help. Opinions are like our behinds. Everyone has one so they all can\'t be right.
