Ticked Off
OK, now I am really ticked off. I was in the middle of a journal entry, not typing or touching any keys, when the text entry page crashed. I had not had a chance to save any of it as I usually do. As of right now consider me officially fed up. I will only write short entries from now on, and less often. My time is not worth much, but it is worth something, and I don't like totally wasting it.

I recommend using a text writer for journal entries and longer messages, rather than typing them directly into ds. I am trying it now and so far so good. Thank you Jen, for that idea.
Hi, Richie........I\'m Joanie and I live in Tennessee. This entry struck a nerve with me. Ohhhh, do I know what you mean about things going off into cyberspace for no apparent reason. A black screen turns me red!!!!!!! I\'ve heard this from others here on DS....could it be a glitch in the site?
Also, with me, when it isnt the fault of the gremlin in my computer its kitties on the keys because the \"fuzzy, four-footed children\" believe in togetherness BIG-time and when I\'m doing my thing my keyboard seems to be one of their favorite hang-outs! Only I love them so, they would be in b-i-g trouble! (smiles)
I notice that someone suggested using a text writer and I\'m not familiar with it. I\'m wondering if it is like Word? Most of my correspondence seems to start out as a \"note\" but ends up more of an epistle so, out of desperation, I use Word and it seems like every other letter I\'m clicking Save. (Groannnn!)
To be honest, I would really like to type things as email so I can use the little cartoon characters in Smiley Central and then transfer what I\'ve written to a site like this, but when I do I get a bunch of letters and symbols that correspond to the little characters..... not the characters themselves.....and I have no idea what to do about it. Ive gotten so that I do email more than I do notes and journal entries these days.
In addition to losing things I write I\'m having the dickens of a time getting around on DS. Only today I had a message that someone had written to me, I clicked to read the message and I was able to........but when I went to my page there was no indication that I had received a message. This has happened to me before so today I made sure to print out the text right then in order to have it when I have time to respond. Also, I know there has to be a way to access the things I\'ve written to folks, but I\'ll be darned if I can do it.
I am not as computer literate as I would like to be and there are times when Im tempted to throw my laptop in the nearby lake.
