Thursday/Friday
Thursday was my birthday... Wow, such a mix of emotions... I worked very hard with embracing the day and not using it to beat myself for who I am not today...
I made a choice to invite friends to my home for a small gathering... As the day progressed, I only heard from two... At first, I felt rejected, less than, unimportant, etc... My little girl was so disappointed... It reminded me of all of the birthday parties my mother planned which were left with wasted food and an empty feeling in my little heart...
I bucked up, you know? It actually removed a great deal of stress from me... I didn't have to clean my home to a tee... I didn't have to don all of the unnecessary garb and make up and, most importantly, I didn't have to pretend to be a marvelous host!
I was able to relax and enjoy the evening... I planned a game which turned out so fun they wanted to play it two more times... SCORE!
The offerings of food were wonderful... The evening was relaxing and enjoyable and when it was time for all to go... I was very ready as it takes so much energy for me to be around people... I rested so very well that night...
Yesterday, a dear friend from out of town stopped by unexpectedly... It was such a joy to see her... We spent the day together helping her buy a new winter coat...
Mind you, she lives in Minnesota and I live in Texas... Our idea of winter coats are far, far different... Needless to say, we were unable to find a good, warm, solid one for her, but she found a lighter one to suffice until she traveled back home...
It was a wonderful day... One I shall put in my treasure box of memories...

Sorry that more people didn\'t show up but glad you had a good itme! Perhaps your friend should have checked second hand stores-someone might have donated a heavier weight coat.

annettearizona, I considered checking in men\'s clothing stores... At that point, though she was rather worn out, so we just enjoyed the rest of our time together... That is a very, very good suggestion...
