Three Weeks Post-Op
Weight: 270.8
My weight loss has slowed down so much I'm really starting to get depressed. Over time the weight loss has been great...a total of 35lbs since I started the pre-op preparation (aprox. 2 months ago), 18 since the surgery 3 weeks ago. What's depressing me is that most of that 18lbs was the first week after surgery. I only lost about a pound last week. Really?? I can lose that slowly without surgery! So am I eating 2-3 ounces of baby food for meals instead of a steak and salad only to lose at the exact same creep down the scale rate? I'm worried and very, very depressed. I know there are other things at work besides the number on the scale but I need objective proof. I need to see the numbers moving!
As for the week 2 problem with the pureed meat. I realized my blender hadn't pureed the ground turkey well enough and it was probably the remaining gristle that gave me the problem. I have since purchased a NutriGeni Pro which pulverizes meats to a fine liquid in less than a minute. No more problems with that!
I start back to work tomorrow and I'm really worried. I have so little energy and wear out so quickly I don't know if I can make it through 12 hours when I crash after 3-4 hours of housework now. At least tomorrow and Wednesday I only teach NRP classes (4 hours). Thursday begins the real test. Three 12-hour night shifts. I've crunched the numbers and it would really strain my finances to their limit if I took any more time off so I've got to just suck it up and do it the best I can.
All in all I'm both physically and emotionally struggling with this right now. I really need reassurance that this was the right decision.
