three months
Sunday March 22 will be three months since i moved from my hometown, on Sunday December 22.
It's took me a couple months to realize, or at least feel, how lousy my old life was, with me being too scared for changes, cause of being by myself, and most past changes were for the bad.
The people in my new apt building actually say hi, or wave high, and they don't have criminal records, or go out to bars every night. What a difference from a barfly tenant in my old building who turned her head when she saw me, or one member in group for homeless on floor above me who slit my bicycle tire, or my alleged slumlord who went psycho when i moved.
I hated going outside in my hometown, and was too broke to do anything anyhow; now I have weekly yoga classes, weekly trips to a farmers' market, and monthly writers' group, and maybe there's some other stuff that is available for me to check out.
Dozens of used, cheap, dvds to add to my collection, only cause I moved to a new town; just-made meals from local grocery store with canned, unhealthy, food as a thing of the past...and a warm apartment instead of two hours of heat a day and me sleeping with my head under the blanket for my breath to keep me warm!
Today, though, on Saturday, for a woman on my floor to tell me that somebody "not in the building" has been stealing the money and/or 50 cents snacks on our floor that was started a month ago; a tiny cart with snacks and a plastic jar to put the money in. "I think I know who it is" I said, and she nodded her head, though I didn't tell her it was the lone person in my new town from my 1980s past, a regular visitor to a crippled woman on my floor, who he buys pills from---just the sort of nonsense I did worry of when I first debated moving.

Too bad some of the old crapp followed you but still way better than before!
i\'m happy for you that you\'re warmer, safer and finding stuff to do! good for you for being brave enough for change!
Yes, TroJanThunder, a lot better than before.
Thanks, Bluemoon29.
Such positive changes. Very glad for you.
Your circumstances have improved so very much. I am happy for you. My response to that older lady would have been,\'the only thing I know for sure is that it\'s not me\'. Don\'t assume she was accusing you. She was probably waiting for you to ask who it was so she could have a gossip with you. If there is one thing old ladies like to do it\'s chat with someone.
Sorry just reread your journal. Guess I got a little mixed up. Anyways so happy things are going better.
thanks, naturalgirl65 and KellyPaterson
