Thoughts on "Detachment"

Some thoughts after reading the chapter on "Detaching with Love":
Detach from his:

blame
anger
emotions
crises
moods
influencers (friends/family that influence his behavior/feelings)
Bottom line: his feelings, actions, problems, etc. are his. The consequences & solutions are his. I can hear him out, advise him, even come alongside him if I choose to. But these are my choices. I don't have to accept blame or responsibility for "his" stuff. I need to leave his responsiblity with him.

Detaching in love means to do the above, but with courtesy & understanding. I may understand why H is angry or whatever, but I don't have to bear the brunt of it or solve his problems. Like I've been fond of saying to myself lately, "Everyone has to pull up his own pants!"
