Thoughts
It is almost Christmas Day. I was really bummed this morning as we opted not to do the 3 hour drive to Edmonton. It was snowing and blowing. Years back we would have not thought twice about going but we are not as courageous (or stupid) anymore.
It bothers Joe when I cry. I tried to assure him that it was normal for me to cry and not being able to spend Christmas with Andrew was hard. So I did what I often do; I went for a walk. I needed some veggies so went down to the grocery store. We have 3 small markets in the neighbourhood so went down the hill. It was a slog through the snow. Nobody had shovelled their walks so went to the closest store. It was even more of a slog walking up the hill. It was worth it because I felt better.
And the Cevyn texted me a photo of the twins in little Christmas outfits. That made my day!
We are having Christmas dinner with our neighbours so I will keep myself occupied preparing an appetizers and vegetables to take over.
We do the best we can at this time of year. As sad as I am a lot of the time, I do feel blessed to have such good friends who care.
Lisa: Your granddaughters are so cute. Wishing you a Heavenly Christmas. I miss you always and love you forever, Mummy

Merry Christmas. ((hugs)) shared.
So sorry you cannot be with Andrew, yet you are wise to not try to travel in the snow. Of course you are disappointed and the feelings just come. I understand it can be hard for others to sit with us when our tears come, yet that doesn't stop them from flowing, does it?
Enjoy your gathering tonight with your neighbors and oh, I'm sure that text with the picture of the twins lightened your heart. What a blessing they are!
Take care sweet Marlene, and Merry Christmas to you and yours. I have no doubt our children are close and reminding us of what is truly important, all the love that is forever.
Hand in hand, Heart to heart,
XO Joanie
Merry Christmas my dear friend. I hope you enjoy your day remember Lisa is watching over all of you. It was raining this morning and very warm 80 is the high today. Please send some cold our way it is not Christmas without a chill in the air. Fans are on doors and windows open and the sun is now shinning. I feel all alone even when the house is full. Missing Mike,
Sending warm hugs your way

We had a late breakfast of biscuits, gravy, eggs and bacon at my daughter's house. Of course we started talking about the things that made us laugh that my daughter's girls did when they were babies. They are 17 and 13 and love hearing stories about when they were younger. My daughter and I started talking about Jeff and of course the tears flowed. I also don't think you are dumb for not making the trip. Glad you got the picture. Love and hugs to you...Nell
Hope your Christmas was as merry as possible, dear Marlene, & that you & Joe are looking forward to a Happy New Year! So glad you got the pic of the twins from Cevyn. Have a nice Christmas dinner!
Love & Hugs to Lisa & you, Donna xoxo
Hi Marlene, You made the right decision. Safety first, right? I think a bit more about driving in bad weather now that I am older, too.
Ken gets upset when I cry too. But it is what it is. Sometimes the tears are helpful: a bit of release for the emotions that are always there.
The great grandbabies are so beautiful. So sweet of Cevyn to send you a picture and bring you a smile!
Loving you and dearest Lisa, Linda
Understanding hugs and lots of love sweet friend~
I saw the pictures on FB of the girls...such doll babies.
Merry Christmas, my friend.
Hold on tight...another new year is around the corner
