Thought I blew it, but things are still progressing

I was worried when people told me that I shouldn't put stipulations on the reconciliation and she didn't text me back until mid-morning. I really would like to meet with just her as her bf now husband has been real nasty to me in the past and I am worried how much he's controlling her. I asked God to cover any mistakes I've made. She texted saying she talked to her husband and really wanted him there for support, but he'd be willing not to come, but wanted to see us sometime. It still surprises me that he'd want anything to do with us. But if God can do a miracle in my daughter's life, He can do a miracle in SIL also. I told her that we'd be fine with him coming. I invited them out to dinner and said I'd pay. She said they'd pay for themselves. Everything is going extremly positive. We're meeting this Thurs. I still have a fear something will go wrong, but I'm just going to keep this meeting covered in prayer.

I certainly understand all of your feelings. Our ES and DIL reappeared in our lives this summer and I have been walking on eggshells each time we are together. My ES came yesterday alone to spend the day with me and go over some of my DH\'s things since his passing. It was good to spend time with him. It is obvious he has been pulled into the thinking of his new in-laws but I could tell his roots are there, just really deep under all the stuff DIL and her dad and step mom have instilled in him.

I was careful to stay neutral in responses to some of the things he said.

I\'m sure your visit will go well. Prayers for you.
