Those who abuse drugs make it harder for those who need them

Just got off the phone and now waiting for my doc to call me back. I'm trying to get my Tramadol prescription adjusted and refilled without having to go in again since I was just there a little over 3 months ago. I still have 3 refills on my Celebrex, but I just called in my last Tramadol refill. They both started out with the same number of refills. The problem is that there are only 30 pills in the bottle. If I have 3 days that require it every 6 hours, that's half the bottle. Another week like that and it's gone.
I've read many complaints around about how people feel like they have to jump through hoops to get the pain relief they need because Dr.s are leery of all the folks out there who abuse drugs. But I've read some recent studies (if I find them again I will cite them) on RA patients and the truth is that most do not take painkillers when they don't need them. Moreover, RA'ers tend to downplay their pain level and just learn to live with a certain level rather than take more meds. This is not something an addict does. 
While I await her call, I am miserable. I forgot how long it takes for a refill to be ready and it's not going to be ready until Monday. I have 3 pills. I'm in a lot of pain today. The best I can hope for is that tomorrow and the rest of the weekend won't be bad.
