Those Perfectly Ordinary Days

I've been sharing with some friends and I just wanted to share with everyone kind of what's on my mind today... The following is a quote by Katrina Kennison.  "It has taken awhile but I certainly do know it now - the most wonderful gift I had, the gift I finally learned to cherish above all else, was the gift of all those perfectly ordinary days."  KK ... Remembering and reliving inside my head those perfectly ordinary days when Cara was alive is often what helps me deal with the hurting of her death...  I don't think I'd ever have recognized what a gift all those perfectly ordinary days were except for the fact that because of Cara's death I now understand... you can't have them back... but you can recall them and be grateful for them...   I also find that I not only remember and cherish those days... but I appreciate and enjoy moments with my loved ones now in the present as never before... There is nothing that makes Cara's death "okay" but I do acknowledge loss makes you appreciate what you could potentially lose as never before... I honestly think our children want us to find these gifts... the legacy they send to us...  Live, love, laugh and even cry with your whole heart...   You can go on Youtube if you'd like and hear a reading from her book... Its a book that's almost like poetry... It sings to your heart...

You are so very right about appreciating all those ordinary moments. I\'ve always been very grateful for the time I have with my family and friends. Just sitting around talking with my family is the most enjoyable thing I can think of doing. When I think of my son Jason that has passed my fondest memories is watching a movie with him, talking about a TV show we had seen, just ordinary things. I miss that so much. Thank you for posting this journal.

I saw your note on the discussion board. I believe this quote is perfect for our booklet and also your comments about appreciation. I sent you a friend request. I hope to meet you at the retreat. Terry
