This Was a Good Day!
Saturday, January 3, 2009 – 8 P.M. Today, I went to see my brother in Boulder. I had been invited there, along with my sister and her friend, to have lunch with him and his family. Although I had not been looking forward to this, I am pleased to say that I had a very good time. The food was prepared and provided by my brother, his wife, and their two daughters. Everyone was very cordial, and the conversations flowed freely. I had to pinch myself now and then to make sure I was not dreaming this up. In the past three or four months, I have seen my brother more often than I have in the past eleven years. We are getting along much better, than I would have thought possible prior to this. I am beginning to see my brother in a new, clearer, and much more positive light than I have in many years. I am glad to have him in my life again, and can honestly say that I hope he remains close to me. While I was there, I was given some new computer software, along with a new HD radio, both of which I asked my brother to get for me. As if that were not enough, he and his wife, as well as their children, tried talking me into letting them give me a trip to New Orleans, Louisiana in April. I have wanted to go there, but have never had a good opportunity to do so. They think I would like it because of my fondness for jazz. They also suggested that I think about making a trip (paid for by them) to the Montréal Jazz Festival. I agreed to consider both of them, but they would like me to make a decision regarding the New Orleans trip before the end of this coming week. (I am sure they know how much I like to procrastinate.) I was invited to join my brother, one of his daughters, a son-in-law, and a grandson on a trip to the museum tomorrow, but I turned it down due to lack of transportation, as well as some inclement weather we are beginning to have.
