This , too, will pass.....

What I always forget is that life is such a changeable thing. Those  seemingly insurmountable problems have a habit of morphing into something manageable or occasionally far worse situations. Australia is experiencing severe floods in the north and off the record temps and bushfires in the south. We know that eventually the rain will stop.... or start....the floods will recede and the fires will be put out yet we regard catastrophies in our lives as some permanent ,malevolent part of our existence. I have a few big dramas in my life, my mother, for one. She is in a nursing home and has some health issues which the home are not dealing with. My sister who works in aged care is on to it and I have to leave it to her.My m-in-law is dying. That is a sad situation and one that will change all too soon, leaving another situation for her husband to deal with. Those two are the extremes. I'm for one moment advocating that we sit back and do nothing but I know that I have to treat life like being in the surf. I can rise up with a wave, let my feet leave the ground, bob about, then stand on firm ground again to face the next wave or I can let the wave knock me over.I know that sometimes I am so focused on the next wave that I fail to see the other swimmers around me.
