This, That & The Other
Things are very, very quiet at work right now. All but 3 other people are at off-site meetings, appointments or vacation. I was able to get the bulk of my work done, so it’s nice to have a quiet moment!
Got to work the Girl Scout cookie booth tonight with my daughter. It’s supposed to be cold, so I’m not looking forward to it. But it’s the last shift, which means we usually close early & we don’t have to wait for anyone else to show up. So that’s nice.
I think I may have cracked or bruised a rib. It hurts a little in my upper left side when I inhale deeply & especially when I do oblique sit-ups. I think the sit-ups gave it away that it’s probably a skeletal-muscular thing. Anyhow, I see my doctor next Tuesday for my annual.
So far, we’re hold our own financially. I’m not looking forward to my eye appointment, because I absolutely must get new lenses (the old ones’ coating is coming off), and that’s going to cost good $. The good news is that my husband is doing some under-the-counter stuff for a friend, so that’ll help with his expenses. He’s poked around at job hunting, probably not as aggressively as he should.
My son has actually gotten to school on time every day this week, since they have the state achievement test & were told they had to be at school 5 min early every day. I’m hoping (but not necessarily counting on) that this may become a habit!
Genealogy is coming along. I’ve been working on the arduous task of citing my sources. Since this wasn’t always a feature on the program I’ve been using, I’ve had to go back & re-trace my steps. Not fun, but it’s a necessary evil. I’ve made contact with a couple of 3rd cousins, which is very exciting. I may meet one this summer!
