This morning, problems with a passionate pup
Good morning journal, the time is now 11:12am,I have been awake for almost two hours, but have only just managed to come here now.The reason why will become apparent as this journal entry continues;our middle dog Bree,is in season, and this very natural state of affairs is having a somewhat unfortunate effect on our youngest dog Caesar, while still very much a puppy,he has all the instincts, and desires it seems,of a Casanova type character which he seems to want to demonstrate at every possible opportunity.Fortunately as yet,we have managed to prevent him cementing his relationship with Bree, but he continues to come up with various strategies designed to elude us long enough to "get the deed done",so far, fortunately, without success. At the moment,he is in his cage in the lounge,a massive thing that takes up a quarter of our lounge space, but at least,he can gaze at the object of his affections without actually getting to her,it does seem a little cruel to me,but we can't afford any more mouths to feed at this stage in our lives. Why don't we have him fixed?,simple,we don't have the money right now,but it is definitely something high up on our list of things to do when we are a little better off financially.Until then,we will have to put up with his whimpers of desire, and at the moment, this was my wife's idea, his unsuccessful efforts to prove his maleness by trying to copulate with the old duvet she threw into his present place of confinement.I do feel an overwhelming sense of pity for him,for despite rumors to the contrary,I do remember being a young man, vaguely,so I fully sympathize with him,but I am grateful beyond words that Bree only comes into season twice a year, and speaking of that,I also remember some women in my past displaying the same twice a year symptoms, perhaps it's a female peculiarity,or perhaps my attraction to them wore a little too thin, either way,I know how our boy feels. As I look into his cage, which is situated right next to my computer desk,he is sitting with his tongue hanging out of his mouth, exhausted by his efforts with the uncooperative bedding, and wondering what he has done wrong,in a little while,he will drop to the floor of his cage in an exhausted heap and sleep the sleep of the unsatisfied, never mind son,it'll all be over in another nine or ten days.Anyhow,....onto more snippets of news from the keyboard of me,tomorrow morning,I have two appointments, the first with my doctor who will tell me if my blood tests, extracted from me if you remember by sister Sharp,....yes,I won't forget her in a hurry either, showed any abnormalities or not;then, after the doctor,I have an appointment with my optician, who will tell me that I'm blind in one eye,he's a sharp boy my optician;I remember asking him once,"how do you know I'm blind in that eye?",his answer?,"because you can't see out of it";you can't argue with scientific logic like that, that's why he has letters after his name and I do not,all those years of university and training have served you well my optical friend,I bow to your greater knowledge once again. It's quite a strange sensation sitting here trying to put my thoughts into print, while an over sized pup gnaws at the bars of his cage in frustration and unrequited love, and the object of his desire sits on the back of my armchair waving her tail seductively at him,but I shall struggle on despite all of these distractions.I have left my ears out on purpose, the whimpers are not so loud, and I can barely hear my wife yelling shut up in the general direction of his cage;so in this case,my deafness is most definitely an advantage;incidentally, the duvet inside the cage will never be useable for anything again except as a synthetic,if uncooperative lover, for our confused young boy.As I type, the duvet lies devoid of any life on the floor of his place of imprisonment, while Caesar continues to remove clumps of stuffing from it's interior,if that duvet was an animal,it would, unfortunately, now be dead, but hey,at least he's quiet for now.Speaking of my beautiful spouse, she continues to provide nutritious repast for us out of virtually nothing at all, just the other night, she concocted a meal from three eggs, one onion,a forgotten tin of tomatoes and a lump of cheese.Hey presto, she worked her magic, and we shared a most delicious omelet which staved off hunger and gave our ribs breathing space from each other,at least for a while anyway. As of this point,we have so far managed to stay away from going down the soup kitchen route,we eat most days primarily once a day,but it could be much worse,so we are grateful indeed for small mercies.Perhaps after April 24th,when we get the promised benefit rise,we will be more able to pad out our diet a little more expansively. As always,we make sure our canine children are provided for nutritionally before we are,as my wife says, they didn't ask to be here,we chose them, and that's why they are so special to us.Well journal, that's all for now, until next time,God bless us all,and may the road ahead be softened by little cushions of hope, peace and continued gratitude.

Thanks once again for the smiles. I like reading your journal.
Scott, my heart goes out to Caesar, but I won\'t and can\'t lend him a hand. This is something he will have to work out on his own. Hopefully you have enough quilts to see you thru the season. Take care, Bill
