This morning

Ive been noticing alot lately that before I get up I've been closing my eyes and just feeling the soft bed I'm lying in and then trying to describe in my mind how the cot at the shelter felt when I was there.  I say to myself that I am lucky to now have that soft bed.

Then I go to the bath and run a hot bath and settle in and say, I am lucky to have this hot bath remembering how it was to share 1 stand up shower with 4 other people in that shelter. Having to get up at 4 am so I could get my shower before anybody else woke up and get to the kitchen before all the coffee was gone.  Sugar was like crack, people were constantly stealing it.

Then I go to the kitchen, open my fridge and say to myself, I'm lucky to have this food.  In the shelter I got my food stolen and I'd have to go to the front desk and get an egg because the staff kept them locked up front as people would steal them.

I realize by making dumb decisions I could be sleeping in my car again.  This latest lesson I learned with ex could have easily landed me back to that situation.  I need to stay focused and on solid ground.
