This is what the doctor said.

This is what the doctor said.
My sugars are improving. But I need to up my insulin by 2-3 units as needed.
I have an infection. Now have to take antibiotics.
My cholesterol is high. He up'd my cholesterol meds 20mg.
I am anemic. He said that the iron in my blood is extremely low and is likely caused by my heavy periods and possible bleeding from the intestines. I now have to take Iron pills. 300mg three times a day. Plus he is referring me for a colonoscopy and a burning of my uterus. These appointments won't happen for almost a year.

wow.. that sounds like me! you have a lot of appointments, but that is good that your doctor is referring you for tests and appointments. I am glad that he is upping your insulin too. I thought you might need some adjustments in your meds., including cholesterol. If you have an infection and you are on antibiotics, your sugars will probably go high, so dont worry if they do. Once you have finished them, they will go back to normal. You should feel better soon. Take care and hope to talk to you soon. huggs Joanne :)

Thank you Joanne. You are a good friend and advisor. You have given me most of the best advice I have ever received about diabetes. I found the diabetes clinics I\'ve been to focused on the technical stuff. I have seen a few dietitians and know how and what to eat. It\'s a matter of changing my eating habits. That is taking time, but I\'m changing.
I feel like an onion, with layers of illnesses.the good news is that with every illness that is cared for I get better with eating and exercise.
I have been so tired the last few days I haven\'t been able to reply to much, but I\'m doing it now.
Smiles and hugs....Sue : )
