This is the Devastation I\'ve been Dreading for Years
I've been in what my therapist aptly calls denial for a few days now. I've been trying to look on the bright side, take advantage of my renewed ability to survive paint fumes and hard labor. And as I was painting the living room just now, my twin brother called and told me that his wife is 11 weeks pregnant. They hated to have to tell me, especially this week, but we're getting together tomorrow for a family gathering and they wanted to give me advance warning. I told them I was happy for them and glad she didn't have to go through what I've been through. and I told them I'd "process this" and see them tomorrow. Erin, my sister-in-law, told me that she was sorry we wouldn't be pregnant at the same time. I got off the phone and collapsed. I called James and told him to come home from his lunch with his friends. I called my good friend Lucy for support, but I had to repeat myself several times because she couldn't understand what I was saying. I've known they've been trying for a few months (turns out since November). They succeeded in early February. Three fucking months. I've been dreading this news for years now. I'm really glad my kids will have cousins (these are our only siblings) but ... where are my kids? It isn't fair and it hurts so much. I don't know what to do. I just can't take this. I thought about having a drink or cutting my wrists (wouldn't actually do it) but guess I'll just sob all the liquid out of my body. Will we really not be pregnant at the same time? Can I really go on like this for 7 more months? Longer?

Oh Kay my heart breaks for you over this news. I know you are happy for them but so, so sad for you. Call me if you need me...I\'m thinking about you.
I\'m so sorry, I know too well the pain that you are able to write about so fluidly. I am going through the same thing with a very close friend and it hurts me everytime I see her and her ever protruding belly. I don\'t know what to say. I go back and forth between wanting to drink rat poisen and thinking that one day I will have a baby in my arms. All the best in the struggle.
I did write a comment last night but it is not showing up today. FRUSTRATING! I know that you are happy for them but I hurt for you because you cannot fully enjoy it. Take care of yourself. I pray that your time will come soon.
Kay, you must be kidding. How can this be? If it wasn\'t difficult enough for you... I now that you are happy for your twin and sister-in-law... but still. Hang in there. (By the way, I have a twin brother, also! What a coincidence!:))
Hi Kay....thinking of you. No more better words than that, my friend. Lots of hugs and support.
Oh man. Bad timing, huh? At least they told you ahead of time and not in front of everyone. I know that stings. I\'m so sorry. Hope you have rehydrated with some diet coke or something. It is so your turn!
I am so sorry. What a crappy time and then to get hit with that news. No matter what happens though, you are a super strong person to be able to get through this all. Remember that.
I know how you feel! It is heartbreaking when everyone around you is getting pregnant so easily and you are having to struggle to even ovulate! I work with and live around pregnant people and I get so tiers of the dramatic stories from them about how hard their pregnancy is and how bad they feel! I would give anything to be pregnant and I absolutly empathize with you!
