This is hard
So I come from my long day at work home, and I am tired, but otherwise ok. Then I saw picture: my daughter's graduation, last year. And my heart sank. I just realized it might had been the last time my daugther had her dad and her mom together in one place at the same time.
I remember it was brief, he left because he had things to do after the graduation. But
there we were, her parents. Mom and Dad. I grew up the daughter of a divorce couple, and I have never seen them together in the same room. Ever. My parents divorce when I was a baby.
And as sad, and at times bad, my marriage was, I started crying because in a way I know she won't have us again like that. It is a big sadness to bring to your children. No matter what age they are.
As a woman I know I did the right thing. But as a mom, today I cry for my daughter's heart because I know that we all loose a little hope when our parents loose theirs.
I hope she will be strong, that one day even she understand me as a woman, and maybe she will forgive me as a mom.
I really hope so...

I\'m sorry you endured a divorce. Children always suffer the most. My parents split when I was 18, it broke my heart!!!!! I felt responsible, it ruined my self esteem.
I am thinking that by leaving an abusive marraige, you gave your daughter a very good lesson in what is to be tolerated and what is NOT. To have stayed for her sake would have been doing her a huge disservice! She is old enough to understand why you chose to end it. Continue that dialogue with her!
