This is awesome!
I feel like the Wizard of Oz tin man who has just been oiled by Dorthy! This is so awesome, and I am only on day 4 of the Sinemet - 2 pills (25/100) a day which I cut in half and take every 4 hours. Tomorrow, I add another pill, and will see how much more benefit it adds. If not enough, I may go back to the 2 pills a day. And, knock on wood, so far none of the yucky side effects (as long as I take it with some food). I am surprised at how quickly it started working. I expected it to take a couple of weeks or so.
My whole body feels so much looser. I did not realize how stiff I had gotten. My tremors are milder, still there, but not flapping like it was. And most importantly the pain is almost completely gone in my shoulder and neck. Miracles of miracles!!!! I even ran a little yesterday and today during my walk! My left hand actually types again and my arm swing was back while I walked, not fully, but almost.
I am doing Julie's happy dance!!!!
Is it too soon to be seeing results? If it is then I have a very powerful brain and all I need is some sugar pills along with a bunch of wonderful people telling me how well they will work! lol The sunshine and warm weather does not hurt either!
You all told me how much better I would feel! Honestly - I didn't believe you! Shame on me. Now why didn't I do this sooner???
(if this is a placebo effect - don't anyone dare burst my bubble)

When my wife started on Sinemet many years ago, she too felt much better in 2-3 days. Over the years as her dosage was increased, she could again tell the difference in just a day or two. It wasn\'t until she had it increased to the maximum dosage about 8 months ago that there was no improvement.
It\'s wonderful to see that bright green smiley face on your profile, and to hear you are feeling so much better. Here\'s hoping it lasts a long time without any major side effects.
Hugs, Dan
So glad to hear that the sinemet is working so well for you. I am trying to remember how I felt before I started taking it. I remember a lot of pain in my back and my coordination being a lot worse. I could hardly work the computer mouse. Now I am doing fine. Still have a little trouble with my hand writing, but it is tolerable. Hope you just get better and better, Birdy
CM,
I am dancing alongside you, I am so excited for you! You sound so wonderful, and I am delighted for you. Arm swings, walking, running ..... you are unstoppable now!
Great to hear,
Julie
Well done!
Your funny CM - don\'t worry about why you didn\'t do it sooner just go with it !
You have been in my thoughts these last couple of weeks.
Keep up the good work
Darlene
Carol I am dancing with you. Am glad it is working for that well. Do not worry
that you did not started sooner, it is good to delayed Sinamet and do not increase it to fast. So far this is the only thing which is there for us. There are no other meds. So longer you stay away from it ,longer it will be there for you. Go on internet and resurge about it. Sorry to burst your bubble , but is better to think about it now ,then wonder about it later.

Thanks everyone. I am just enjoying the feelings of having some control back. Its not perfect - but it is so much better. I think I am going to keep it at 4 half pills a day for awhile. I tried the 3 full pills yesterday and I just didn\'t see much more benefit, plus my stomach seems to tolerate the half pills better for now.
Yes - this stuff is good. Just call me Happy Feet!! lol
Big bear hug for you all. Your support and words of encouragement mean the world to me. I hope your weekend is full of joy!
1. Super ! Superior ! Superfluous ! You made me think of Steve Martin. Oh no, I\'m getting Happy Feet........
So Glad it\'s working for you.
I am so happy for you!!! I have tried to stay away from any \"specific\" PD meds just yet- and my neuro seems to agree that\'s a good choice for me. However, after a couple a great weeks of somewhat thinking I had hit some kind of a remission, I was hit with a DAY FROM HELL when it seemed all of my PD symptoms attacked me all at the same time! Scared me to death!!! Since then I struggle each & every day just to get up, go to work, and make it back home. It takes Adderall, LOTS of Diet Coke, a Rocket Chocolate (caffeine \"kicker\"), and a 5 hr Energy Extra Strength to keep me functioning (doc has said this is all a \"no-no\", but with my fast paced & stressful job my only other option seems to be to quit work.
I see my neuro next week and we\'ll see what she has to say. I seem to have a hard time communicating just how exhausting the pain & physical symptoms as well as the mental exhaustion from trying to speak louder, keep my balance to avoid falls, write clearly, etc., etc. are taking a real toll on me.
I am have been thinking I am ready to try the meds now. I WANT MY LIFE AND PERSONALITY BACK! Your entry gives me hope. I would settle for even a slight improvement at this point!
Think of you often....pray you continue to ride this \"high\" for a long time to come.
Laura
