This close...

I stopped over at the real estate office this morning because the owner of that property sent over a counteroffer.  To my SHOCK, it turned out they agreed to EVERYTHING I asked for (and I asked for A LOT)... All they want is a higher price ($4,000 more).  AND THEN... the real estate agent informed me that he'd forgotten one of the stipulations I'd asked for (I missed it too on the original offer I signed)... that not only is it depending on financing, but the ZONING I need for the property too.  So, agreeing to the price, I had to counteroffer again to make sure that was in the terms (if it hadn't been for that, we would have been under contract already)....
And all of a sudden, the real estate agent is hesitating.  He said this could be a make-or-break thing.  My mind was racing - he'd just said that the owner knew that was one of the conditions, and that the owner didn't notice it was missing from the original offer either... so, like in a chess game, I just sat back and watched... the real estate agent called up to the county zoning offices, asked what needed to be done to get the change, and I could hear the person on the line say everything I already knew (about $500 and 2 months processing, public notice, etc...) AND THEN, lol... that person said that there is already a conditional use permit request pending for the same type of business!
Am I worried now?   Is this gonna mess things up?   HECK NO!!!
This means that I'm on the RIGHT TRACK!  PROSPECTS ARE GREAT!!!  That request is for a location on the southwestern side of town, in an area where there's little traffic (the edge of the forest), and it's not even built yet.  One of the local vets has decided that this would be a good way to expand and wants to build a facility AFTER he gets approval.  Right now, his clinic is on the opposite side of town in a residential area and his "kennel" for sick animals is inside a house next door.  IF it goes through, it's most likely going to be a facility with dog runs and cage kennels like all the others.
So let him build it!   And in the meantime, if he gets approval first, I'll just follow his lead, show how my business plans will actually be better, and AWAY I'll GO and I think I might just enlist the help of his competition which is right in front of the place I'm trying to get!   And just in case, the agent is going to show me another possible property (for $100,000 less) in the next town over - where all the oil riggers are moving to (MORE PROSPECTS!).
You know... sometimes I feel like Jonah and the whale in the Bible... I applied for a state job (benefits, excellent wages, enough income to get the dog thing going without borrowing in the future), thinking it was a way forward, but MAYBE it was just a distraction... one I had to look at so that I could see that God wants me to go in a different direction that I already know about (the dog thing) and that he knows exactly what I need to face (frustration over the testing I did yesterday - passed though) to see it and get over my own stubborness (because I am pretty stubborn).   I think I just got spit out, lol.
Oh, and an update on N.   Haven't heard from her since my last post. Thank God... LATER!
