This And That
Well here I am I hope.
One strange issue. My birthday was on Aug 2nd, 59 yrs old. Usually birthdays are mostly low key, it rarely ever bothers me that much. I don't really expecta big deal, but this yr the whole day just dragged me down. I was major grumpy the whole day, just wanted the world to go away. And, major major feeling sorry for myself. I got one ph call fr a used to be close friend & even then I wonder if it's because I sent her a birthday greeting. There's a part of me that I have to honestly admit was hoping for some kind of recognition. I wonder if my position in life both myself physically & caring for hubby has set this going in me. Oh well, it feels better to at least vent it here.
I've got an appt with an eye surgeon for cataracts in my left eye. I feel it's good to have an eye dr that fully supports my being proactive & dealing with it early rather then sayig well we'll check it again in six months or whatever. Cataract surgery here can be at least 6 months to a yr so thats that. At least mine is not seriously progressed. But hubby & I are already reviewing how it will impact our lifes for a while cause you're seriously restricted for a period afterwards & I'm the root of our daily lifes. Hubby doesn't drive that much & on & on. I'm tryig to reassure us both that things will work out & progress exactly as it's supposed to in the big picture of life. There's a small chance that because I've got conditions that compromise my overall health it could put me on a priority list. LOL, I can't see how I'm going to handle someone doing whatever they need to to my eye & I'm going to sit there, not blink or move. Am I making sense here. Boy could this be interesting.
The cat shelter I did all those yrs in will be officially closing the end of September. I feel OK abt it. Alot of friends here know how I've been really bothered by the lack of proper caring for the conditions at the shelter in general. The cats deserve better then that place would ever give them. So now the focus will be to get rid of the remaining cats. I know staff have wondered if hubby & I would take one & as much as we'd like to we both agree that we're not in a position in life to take that on. So it is what it is. I feel okay abt the whole thing.
Yoga will be starting again in abt 3 wks. I always find that by the time summer gets into Aug & the middle of the month comes my body is saying "you know lady I'm really ready for some refreshing balancing yoga". I'm going to have to miss the first class cause I've now got an appt with a skin specialist for a wound on one ear that never healed properly. LOL, wouldn't you know it huh.
I've been so bored with meals lately. It's been feeling like same old same old & I'm thinking its time to dedicate an afternoon to my collection of cookbooks & work myxelf out of the rut. I really feel I need to focus on some things that can easily be frozen so on days where life is just too much or I've got lupus flare issues I've still got a good meal avail. I just can't seem to get my butt in gear here.
Well I think this abt sums up life for now so I won't whine any more. We're blistering hot right now so I'm thinking I'll blame any mood problems on the weater, I can do that right.
Love & thanks to all my friends who can take the time to read & give me there thoughts.

Belated Happy Birthday, Kitty, I'm sorry I missed it...you should have a virtual party here on DS and invite your friends... I do that and it's fun!!! When's your eye surgery? My dad had and mom has had 1 eye 'done' now with HD vision, hope all goes well, as I understand how it impacts your routine, can anyone help you out during the 'recovery' time? Hope all the cats get loving forever homes. I'd love to take them all. I've decided that after Scooter passes (like in 10-14 years), no more cats for us. If anything, I'd be retired and would like a dog for exercise, activity, etc. I grew up with beagles.
Listen, this is the place to VENT so come often k? Email us when you journal, that works well! Don't be a stranger, getting it out in a journal sure helps me. Love and hugs to you! xxoo
Happy Belated Birthday to you! I love to cook, but can't stand in place to do a lot of it now. I love going through cookbooks though.
Will have you in my prayers for your eye appointment. It's hard to think of relying on others I know.
Vent all you want! It does help relieve stress.
Big hugs...
Lesa
I wish I'd know it was your BD, I would have made a fuss! I may have had it on an old calendar but I have been terrible about tracking BDates from one year to the new year recently.
I think I've become terrible at it b/c my birthdays are often just like you described yours! Even when I do recognize others (even now I'm probably still better at it than most ppl I know), they don't usually reciprocate even when we are BFFS and they all fall in the same month!
So I tend to get down in the dumps on my BD. It is good that you vented here though! You are so not alone :)
I'm bummed to hear that you'll need surgery though. I would think that they will be able to localize your eye's reflexes so it doesn't move! My eyes are super sensitive and I know I could not physically keep my eye still either! That sounds like a good first question for your doc.
You are such a good planner that if anyone can plan a successful recovery period, it would be you. I wish I could come and help you out. I wonder how far we are apart?
I am totally on board with the yoga thing. I was doing so GREAT when in yoga class and then my MIL was slipping away, then passed and I got sidetracked with my routine and have not been able to get it back. I need my class to start back up again too. I hope nothing keeps you from the other sessions.
Gee, I feel like I could have written most of your journal LOL. Having the same issues here with food and energy to cook. I have veggies from my garden and veggies from the co-op and it is TOO MUCH. But, I won't complain about that since it's great to have things growing this year.
Anyway, here's a belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY from me! xoxoxoxo
