Thirsty Thursday

I thought it best to take a anti anxiety med last night after yesterday.  I am going to take them to see if they can help with the stress and anxiety Ive been feeling as of late.  They make me thirsty and gave me an upset stomach this morning.  I know it is not good to self medicate but it might be good to try them again and deal with things 1 thing at a time.  It is not easy to think rational while having anxiety attacks.  I could hardly breathe yesterday.

It seems everytime I get ahead I need to invest in something else.  This morning I was going thru my closet and my clothes are getting worn out-I absolutely hate spending money on clothes and will try to hit some used clothing stores.  Not much going on today-thank goodness-(careful not to speak too soon).  Here is hoping this trend last throughtout the end of today.  Have a blessed day all.

Anxiety is such a bear. I have the old "generalized anxiety disorder" thing and I understand how intense it can be. I find certain meditation techniques really helpful in just trying to peel myself off the ceiling. I do a body scan meditation which helps me stay present and bring awareness back to my body. Here's a link about it. I actually only do it for 10 minutes or so and that is enough to sort of lessen the heightened feelings of anxiety. I did it a lot when I was dealing with some serious health issues a few years ago that were kicking up a lot of anxiety for me.

It's not easy to think rationally when it's happening but I know for me, I have learned, through practice, to identify when my anxiety is started to kick in and if I can recognize it early, I can usually head it off before it goes completely off the chart. It's like just the act of recognizing it seems to lessen the intensity.

I do a lot of positive mantra type things too when my anxiety goes bananas. Simply saying over and over out loud in a calm steady voice something like " I am well" or "I am at peace" or "I am ok; this will pass" is something that really helps me. It kind of reduces feeling really overwhelmed with the anxiety discomfort.

Hope things are better today.

The first few years that I could afford new clothes I found myself somewhere between bored and offended by the massive racks of duplicate items. The used clothing items never have two of anything. Well. . . Occasionally you can find two of the same shoe, but other than that, the odds against seeing two people in the same second-hand outfit are slim to none.

Once we leave the hospital, it's ALL self-medication, isn't it? Nobody holds my hand to the pharmacy counter, much less hand me the medication at the appointed times. Dunno about the wisdom of self-medicating, but. . . Easy does it, Cap'n. Stay smart.

For what it's worth:
I subscribe to the economic theory that the need shall always rise to exceed the income. Shortages are inevitable, whatever the size of the digits involved. The trick is to stay calm in the face of the inevitable shortages. Compost happens. This, too, shall pass. Platitude. Platitude.

While I don't smoke it myself...,alot of my friends say marijuana helps tremendously with anxiety. Also, some varieties of tea such as labrador tea and chai tea, chamonile tea and there are many others, as well... I googled the following for you:...I googled this for you if you are considering natural remedies for your anxiety that don't have the harsh side affects of prescription drugs:

I use about a bowl of MJ a day. It does help and the munchies are not a problem for me.
