Thinking about trying again...maybe with donor eggs?
Okay, I had a birthday last month and turned 43 yrs old...a year after my Mom gave birth to me. I really thought that last year would be my year to get pregnant but it wasn't....Haven't given up...
I saw a new doctor a couple of weeks ago and he is supposed to be the best of the best in my area. Well, he read my history and pretty much told me what my first doctor had said: very unlikely you will get pregnant with your own eggs esp at your age. You have a better chance with donor eggs. But I told him that I still wanted to try with my own eggs one more time and he kept telling me that I needed to be realistic. Then he went on to outline a plan I think just to pacify me just because I wouldn't leave his office. I asked him about the weight loss theory again and he said that even so much as losing 5% of my weight would certainly help. He suggested I try that first and come back and see him in 6 mos. Well, I have yet to start a weight loss plan. When I should be going to the gym and eating better, I'm eating all kinds of crap that I shouldn't be eating. Just feel like nothing I do helps anyway. I know this thinking is not good and is destructive but I can't seem to get myself back into exercising.
His IVF nurses then mailed me a Donor Egg packet with all of the pre-requisites of all the tests I would have to take once a donor was selected. Boy oh boy is that list long! I am so overwhelmed again...The packet included different donor egg agencies, attorneys, psychologists, etc. Why can't this process be easy? Just feels so very difficult, all the time.
If any of you have gone through donor eggs, can you pls reply? I really need some help and support....please...now that I'm mentally ready to do this, not sure what the first step is...
Thank you so very much!
