things you should know by age 30//poem: not a people person by: caroline lamere

"I'm not always a people person  Though at times it may seem  I like to sit alone outside  Just the world and me  The city is just too busy...  Too many people  Too much anxiety  So here  I come to be alone  With the waves and the sea  But you,  I'd let you sit with me."    by caroline ross lamere __________________________ "this part especially i understand and never understood until i started having trouble after the car accident and from the statins i was taking.  i needed allll of my energy for me.  so anyone who was at all dramatic, had to be cut out.  people with great health and high energy also had to be cut out.  was really stunned i did this.  gave me a bigger understanding of illness that i never had before."  ,79 18. The love of your life should be the loves in your life. the many things you love, not one person or living things at all actually. 19. Some people really, really, really suck. Trying to get through to them with all of the tools that will work with people who don't suck won't work. 20. You're not perfect. You don't have to be. No one else is perfect either (even if their beds are made every morning). 21. Being victimized is an unfortunate part of life. Being a victim leads to an unfortunate life for a while, break away from anything that victimizes you as soon as you can.   22. We all have sh^%. Getting yours together helps you get into the game. 23. Texting someone is not "making a real effort" and it's not how you build relationships. 24. People lie. Especially to themselves.  They also lie about others.  Some are bi-polar or schizophrenic who do this (most of them actually).  If someone is crazy, they are crazy, there will be no explanation at all for what they do, except perhaps jealous and/or delusions.  should these people be alive.  no, of course not.  they had that right one hundred years ago.  but right now they are alive and by the time they are done, the human species will no longer exist because they will kill them all off and then kill off each other.   27. Pay attention to your audience, take a little time, take a deep breath and then say exactly what you mean to say in a way you would not mind printed.  or not, their problem is their problem and there are therapists everywhere, including priests in confessionals where you don't need an appointment to be there and its FREE.   28.We are in this world together, but our lives are traveled on our own. This means you are the only person in this entire world with all of the information surrounding your life. 29. A partner should add to a partnership. If not, it is better to keep everyone else's names off of the operating agreement.  Many people are just good actors and they are acting the entire time, generally to gain something for themselves that has nothing to do with you at all.  they are users/takers, not givers and not in a relationship with you nor anyone else.

Love the poem!! It\'s ok that you needed all your energy for YOU, in order to get better. Nobody can judge you for that. As is mentioned in your other comments up there, only YOU know all the components of YOU, and nobody else has any first hand knowledge in how to help you heal!! Also true about partners....and relationships, they are difficult, and people that text each other in front of me, usually get some kind of off the cuff remark from me. Not a a rude remark, but one that indicates that it would be much simpler, and so much quicker, if they would just pick up the phone and speak to each other.

The worst thing about texting is that you cannot hear \"tone of voice\" coming through in a test message and things get misunderstood, and that can be very hurtful. I don\'t text. I\'ve already made up my mind on this issue. Texting is for emergencies only, when a phone has to be put on vibrate because the person I\'m trying to reach is in a place where cell phone ringing is not allowed.
