Things To Do In Taitung Taiwan's Most Underrated City

Highway 30 in Hualien county is a good one to take because it is fast, but Highway 23 in Taitung is a very slow and winding drive past aboriginal communities. The natural outdoor hot spring is secluded in the Xinwulu River Valley. It can only be reached by river tracing, rock climbing, and hiking. Check the local weather here or ask your hotel before heading there.

The eastern region is characterized by hilly topography, and the scenic spots are mainly distributed in the East Rift Valley or the Longitudinal Valley and the eastern coastal region. T’s incredibly easy to end up buying more Italy souvenirs than expected, and ending up with more knick-knacks than you really need. Established in 1999, the Guanshan Waterfront Park covers a wide area of 34 hectares and was previously a dumping ground. A third of the park is covered by water, which mainly originates from the subterranean river. The remaining two-thirds consists of an ecological island, pavilions, nest boxes and other attractive features. There are many water activities for the whole family, including swimming, water slides and much more.
