Things are turning up.
He did follow through on a promise he made me. I was surprised.
I gave him everything he wanted.
It was like a weight was lifted. I was surprisingly sad, more so than relieved. I guess I realized it's really completely over now, with nothing to try to discuss.
When he walked away, he did look back for a second. He never had looked back, not once in 2 years. He was always a person who just walked away.
I feel like my brain finally has "room" again. It's amazing how obsessing about these abusive people FILLS your whole life. Before you know it, there is room for nothing else.
Re-reading an old journal, almost every entry was about him, and whether he was nice or not that day.
I actually worked today for 8-hours straight on my business. I wasn't able to focus like that in MONTHS. It felt great to be able to finish a task, without 10 other thoughts distracting me.
It feels good just to be alive now. I used to always rush into dating when I was single, but now I feel content just to exist. I don't want anything to disturb this calm that I've finally found. It's a lot less lonely than I thought it'd be. Just seeing friends a few times a week seems to be fine.
