things are starting to move at last
Finally we are moving. My D has been accepted to be included in the MDS4 trial. Last Monday he had a bmb and bloods, his condition is such that transfusion of blood and platelets together with prednisolone and exjade no longer work as well as previously.Next Monday more bloods, then following Monday the battle begins.First he will have vidasa for 7 days for the first 2 cycles. Then if all going to plan the nest 10 cycles will include21 days of revlimid I believe, not quite sure of the figures just yet.My D is feeling very strong mentally, and hopefully will continue to.Please God keep us all strong for this treatment. Keep the faith.

Good luck with the trial and keep us posted. It is wonderful that he has a positive attitude. You said earlier that the Exjade did not agree with your husband. What problems did he have? Did they eventually go away? Is there really any other option? The iron overload can be very dangerous. My Dad is supposed to start taking it.
the iron overload is a serious problem, but there are other drugs that can be used instead,be guided by your drs.My D had pain in his legs, which the drs could not explain,so decided to cease with exjade. Also not the first time he was on exjade, the first time he became seriously constipated and ended up in hosp. They do not believe that these problems are caused by exjade. The trial begins monday week, with no bloods in between 7 days free.Today had nose bleed only forming blood clot after 45 minutes.Going to specialist today, hopefully will not need platelets before Monday. If you have concerns about exjade you should speak to your specialist. keep the faith
