Things are slowly getting better
I have been spending most of my time resting with my feet up to get the darn swelling down in them. The right foot came down quickly, but the left one is being stubborn and refuses to deflat. It still hurts a whole lot even after meds, so I wonder if I have done something to it, or if RSD is settling down into the left leg. The weather is better, temps down to high 80's, low 90's and I am doing better. I have gotten down to just a lite dose of neurontin and my head feels clearer than it has in a quite a while. At one point a few days ago i fell apart- that I just couldn't do it if the RSD was spreading. I have never known so much debilitating pain as I have felt with my left arm this past two years. Now that type of pain in spreading to other parts of my body. I just wanted to throw in the towel and say "I'm done, I can't do this anymore."That's when I discovered I have truely married a remarkable man. He took me in his arms and firmly stated that yes I could- I already was dealing with it and doing just fine. He goes out of his way to let me know how beautiful and loving I am to him in his eyes, and how much I mean to him. If I have doubts looking in the mirror at myself, he takes them away by asking " What haven't I loved you enough today? Let me fix that...you know you are beautiful always to my eyes." I read posts from others, and realize the treasure I have in my relationship with my husband. We have been married for 24 years, together even longer than that. Yes high school sweathearts can become life long partnerships. He has held me, rocked me, loved me through this terrible time in my life, helped me learn to pace myself and deal with the changes to me. At times I want to quit the drugs the doctors have me on, and he is there discussing it with me and convicing me it is no worse than his having to take his blood pressure medicine. It's just something that you have to do. So, slowly things are getting better. Yes my body is racked with unrelenting pain. The meds make it more bareable, barely at times. I monitor the changes in the swelling, do what I can, let my doctor know, and accept that the rest is out of my hands... I take a deep breath, quiet my mind and endure. It is all that I know to do.
