Things are looking up!

After 18 days of really bad stomach pain (from gastritis) I had some periods of relief yesterday and again today.  I'm not sure what is helping, but the day before yesterday I drank a bit of Kombucha drink.  Just like two ounces.  I'm going to try that daily for a while and see if things continue to improve.
I hate the fact that my house needs attention so badly.  I feel so much better when it is clean and in order.  But when you are in pain you just neglect things.  With one ill husband, two cats and a dog, nothing stays the same for long.  Wasn't there an old story about a shoemaker, who had elves or something come in his shop overnight and do all his work?  Could someone please call or email those elves for me?
I'm in the habit of doing a nice Sunday dinner and have a neighbor and my son for regular guests.  I've always used that as a reason to hurry up and get the house spic and span.  Toady I actually sent both of them an email saying, sorry, not this week.
I must look at the bright side.  I have my recliner, my laptop, the Internet, Netflix, books and crafts.   I made a cute little key-holder for the wall by the door yesterday.  Its got a dolphin and seashells on it.  My whole house is nature/tropical decor, you know wicker, bamboo, seashells, vines, etc.  This is Florida, after all.  I was so tickled four years ago, when we lost the house and barely had two nickles to rub together, I managed to furnish the entire house from thrift stores and yard sales.  The house we left was in a life estate, so nothing came with us but our recliners!  God is good and I've found most situations in my life  come with a silver lining.  So now, even though we are in a mobile home, my heart sings with joy when we arrive home, because  of my wonderful flowers blooming everywhere around the outside.  I just hope I soon feel well enough to get out there and do some weeding, as we had some rain this past week.
Lastly in my journal report, I want to apologize to any friends who I may have neglected since the beginning of this month.  If you sent a message and I didn't reply, please try again.  I just haven't been able to keep up.  (((HUGS))) to all of you,  Jan

Hi Jan! I know I\'ve not been around here lately and for some dumb reason I never get those e-mail alerts, so I just popped in to check on you.

But ha! I know what you mean. My house, too, is a mess as well as the yard. And we have two cats and a dog too---aaack dog/cat hair/fur all over the place! Goodness, how they shed....

And damn--where are those elves when you need them!!!

I need to do some weeding in the garden too.

Love your thrift store/tropical decor! This IS Florida!

Take care!
