they were giving the kitty rancid clavomox//dinner out with j//sunny & warm
Saturday, March 24, 1984.
Where were you on Saturday, March 24, 1984? I remember that day so well. seriously.
" .... should be remembered not just for the way he appreciated weirdness/individuality, but for the way he normalized it — not with pills but with paisley. (conformity is NOT good, its bad).
The monologue that bookmarks The Breakfast Club, with the line
“You see us as you want to see us – in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions”, succinctly captures how society’s view of youth changes and yet always stays the same.
For the current younger generation, the simplest terms are mostly taken from psychiatry. (Their form of slang?)
This will eventually change and our recurrent anxieties about the young will largely be expressed in the next most convenient definition (my guess is that slang will be in computer terminology as that is already happening).
As a society, we are strangely blind to the complexities of youth." L.A. TIMES
There are quotes from Plato and Socrates about youth and the economy and it may as well be today, instead of 5000 years ago. Homo sapiens also LOOK exactly the same. We haven't evolved and that is also strange as everything else has. Wonder if all this conformity stopped our evolution?
Nicer out today than it was yesterday. Very windy, so i guess there is a blizzard up north if its so windy here. today, its sunny and warm mostly.
I discovered the new kitty that we are treating is ill because they were giving it UNREFRIGERATED clavamox. There is an amoxicillin that is liquid and doesn't need a fridge, but its a new thing. they also have a doxycycline that is like this (it makes the animals ill and no one is using it). i only gave the kitty one dose of this clavamox as as first i thought, oh, they have the new kind for the clavomox as well. NOPE. i was looking at it yesterday and its yellow and separated and normally its white. grrrrr. i already switched her to the proper amoxi. now is she truly ill with uri of some sort OR was she ill from being POISONED by the rancid clavamox that they were giving her at the pound from the 2/27 through 3/4. i'm pissed. the vials have minimal instructions, so its not surprising this happened. they buy in bulk and i guess whoever typed it, doesn't like typing. its medicine - make an effort.
the biggest problem with helping the adult kitties is that they hide, they also stay outside and don't want to return, even bert, who is de-clawed. the others who had sniffles seem okay. i think its the cold weather doing that. when it was 67 degrees none of them were sick. bert's tooth thing seems healed as well, but he wants to stay outdoors. the cat door is there. every time i think one is missing they show up. lol. i've never done this end of rescue before so its kind of unnerving and i don't have proper solutions yet.
the dog seems healed from her tooth cleaning and 3 extractions, but k is worried about her belly, which gets pink. she is white, so is that normal for white? the grey one doesn't have that. white poodles i think also have that? i need a book to look it up. i don't see fleas, so the advantage-multi must work on her? not sure. also got a good price for nexgard, which is the new flea med out and all the vets are recommending it because the fleas won't be immune to it yet (in ten years they will be).
usually i like to wait until a product is out there a couple of years before i buy it, and let all the people who love new products go through the de-bunking thing.
j's cousin posted photos of their cruise to australia and the south pacific. wow! so many people travelling in the last few years and they get that "stress-free and learned" look in their eyes and demeanor from being new places for long periods of time. love it. also noticed his wife aged a lot since 2010. too much. that is usually a sign of cancer, or a health issue, i know that now -- though could also be weight loss maybe? odd to be one of the old ones, i was generally the youngest everywhere under the sun for most of my life because i was always getting certifications in things.
we actually have a sink hole/erosion at the marina. so you can't walk down by the docks at all. very strange as we haven't had serious hurricane here since 2004. its roped off and they are claiming its very dangerous.

Every time the vet has given me Clavamox, it has said right on the bottle that it had to be refrigerated! How did they not know?? *HUGS*
because the pound buys EVERYTHING in bulk and then puts it in smaller vials to be used by whatever animals need it. (this is an improvement. just a few years ago, they didn\'t treat ANY ANIMALS and all animals with sniffles were killed. that is how screwed up it is in florida). all it said on the outside of the vial was to administer 2 x per day -- didn\'t even give an amount, but there was a 1 ml syringe in with it. horrible.
when i picked this one up she said it sniffled, they gave it antibiotic which seemed to make it worse, so they gave it two antibiotics. i was shocked when i SAW the antibiotic in brighter light and it was ordinary clavamox, was yellow (not white) in color and separating. are they crazy? but how would they know, especially if the kennel worker is new. the amoxi that they give the animals since last year, doesn\'t need refridgeration, they probably assumed it was the same. would have been nice if they put a STICKER on the vial saying, must be refridgerated, they normally have those. but they have cut back on allllll services for the animals at this pound because the money used for animals is going for a beautification project instead (even though its a fairly new facility). (more likely than not, that money is going into their own pockets and \"beauitification is an easy way to hide embezzled funds).
gave the kitty normal amoxi last night and lysine to help with immunity and moist food. no idea if she will be okay. i may try to bottle feed her. she is only five pounds and the cat she came in with is much larger? not sure what is going on there. could be genetically smaller or could be bullying by the bigger one, or it could just be a small, ill kitty. wish they could talk.
thanks for asking michelle.
also interesting that the \"beautification\" is going on, at the same time the ceo of their board, is putting up a large home on the beach which will need landscaping in full. i BET YOU the \"beautification\" is going to be re-routed to his beach house, in addition to their own pockets. even this part is creepy because the woman that owned the house that was already there was murdered at their pound by a blow to the head by one of the workers (who still works there). when it went to court, the surveillance video \"disappeared\" as it happened right in their lobby with witnesses. the lawyer for this woman is on the board at the shelter and he is executor of her will and \"inherited\" her properties. the whole thing totally REEKS.
