There should be special slammers for scammers......

I haven't written anything here in forever, but I'm so pissed about this that I had to write about it somewhere, so please bear with me.
I recently had the great misfortune to run into a scammer on one of the more popular dating sites, that supposedly lived about 4 hours from me. The first red flag was when he asked me if I was an IT expert because of my job, but I just sort of let that go by and continued the conversation. To make a long story short, he was going on a gold buying trip to China, and wanted to have 15 gold bars shipped to MY house, and he would come here after his trip, meet me and take care of the gold. Well, I was born at night, but it wasn't last night, so I of course told him no, and asked him just how stupid he thought I was. Then I did a little investigating and traced his IP address. Guess what?!?!?! It traced back to Ghana. I immediately spammed all of his emails, and blocked him from my IM program. Thank GOD I had never given him any personal info, so all it cost me was the membership fee to the site where I ran into his sorry ass. He has tried to contact me a couple more times, and it is so tempting to really blast him a new one in an email, but I don't want to antagonize him for fear of retribution.
To sum it all up, my days of the internet dating sites are sooo over. If anyone ever runs into a suspicious person, Google "how to trace an IP", you'll be surprised at just how easy it is. I guess we live and learn, but what makes me the angriest is that I know he'll just go along to the next person, and some may not be as suspicious as I was. There are literally thousands of these sort of things going on, so please be careful out there.
