There's always something, huh?
We did our first cycle of Femara this month. I was on 5 mg/day. Got a positive OPK on Thursday, so ovulated either Thursday or Friday. For about 4 days prior to ovulating, my left ovary was noticeable all the time. I mean like it felt like it was the size of a golf ball. I was beginning to be concerned that I had developed a cyst or something, but after I ovulated, my ovary went back to normal almost immediately.
So now I'm sitting here wondering what that means. Does that mean I released more than 1 egg? Given how noticeable my ovary was - which indicates a big change in size - did I have a bunch? The cycle was unmonitored, so I'm a little stressed that I'm going to end up as an Octomom or something.
I'm so relieved I ovulated because I haven't since I miscarried. But it seems like there is always something to stress about. I alternate between praying that I'll just get pregnant and praying that if I do there is only 1.
Anyone who has done monitored cycles, at what point did you start to feel your ovaries? How many follies did you have at that point?

The Femara not only helps the ovulation happen, but it makes your follies get nice and big and mature. When I was on the femara alone, i got like 3 large follies, and I could definitely feel my ovaries. It is quite possible to get multiples, but your odds of being octomom are pretty slim. If you are really scared, maybe your RE or OB will be willing to do an u/s for you next cycle just to see how well you\'re responding to the meds? Good luck!
Thank you! I always thought I\'d take whatever and just be thrilled. But when it\'s actually a possibility...kind of a scary thought. In all of the things we\'ve tried in the past - Clomid included - my ovaries have never gotten that big. So I\'m hoping that\'s a positive thing...but makes me kinda nervous too. :)
I agree with Nelly, the chances of you becoming octomom are slim so do not even stress about that! With femara, I responded less than on clomid. Normally only one good fat follie per side but I definitely could feel them more. On clomid I always had at least 2 per side and never felt them. So I think you are good.
