\"...there\'s a whole lot of cheatin\' going on...\"

Friday January 16th - 8:00 a.m.Received an email this morning from eHarmony.com regarding the Most Inspirational Couple of 2008 contest. My suspicions were confirmed -- there's been some cheating going on in the voting. This became apparent to me two days into the contest -- several couples were leaping way ahead while the majority of entries were only getting minimal votes. Tom and I figured these front-runners had LOTS MORE FRIENDS than we do (or at least a lot more friends with internet access). On Thursday morning, I discovered what I believed was a possible "hole" in the one vote per day per couple process and was tempted to notify eHarmony. However, I didn't want to be labeled as "sour grapes" so decided against it.Well, after looking at the numbers late last night and again this morning, it is very apparent that at least someone has found a huge, gaping hole in the vote limiting software because they went from a few hundred votes to OVER 10,000 VOTES in a matter of hours. This kind of thing just makes me sick to my stomach....and it casts a shadow of doubt over the entire contest and puts the credibility of eHarmony in question.I have stated before: WE don't care about winning the contest. Tom and I are happy enough with having our story selected as one of the 50 finalists in the contest. That's the primary reason we entered -- to be able to get OUR STORY out there as a ray of hope for other people our age who have found themselves "suddenly single" through no fault of their own. And THE GRAND PRIZE of all to us is being able to bring a ray of hope to all the folks here on Daily Strength. (Thanks again, Chrissy, for posting the link to the contest and for standing up and cheering for us!)So, I ask all of you who are reading this: If you like our story, vote for us. You may vote ONCE A DAY through the voting period which ends on January 23rd. But vote only once a day, please. Hopefully, by the time this message is posted, eHarmony will have fixed the hole and posted the re-tallied votes. Thanks!
