Therapy

I was looking into this therapy program on my college campus.  The initial meeting and five meetings after that are free because I'm a student.  I'm really shy and socially anxious.  I went on their website, and the only two ways to set up an appointment is to either call by telephone or go to the place in person.  If only I could find a email address I can shoot them an email, which is a lot easier for me that the methods mentioned above.  I am just so tired of people around me moving foward with their lives, eventuallu I'm going to have to do something.

Hi Mas5707, I can see from what you\'ve said previously that you\'re at Penn State, State College campus. (I\'m over in Philadelphia.)

So I took the initiative to call the counseling services on your campus and ask if there\'s an email address you can write to for an appointment. I spoke with a very nice woman named Cathy St. Andrews, who is one of the counselors. She suggested that you write to ccaps@sa.psu.edu and ask that the email be sent to her and ask her about how to make an appointment. This email is the general info email address, but once the email gets to her, she will respond to you and support you through the process of getting an appointment and that if you want, she can be the person you see for your initial appointment.

She also said the initial appointment is just 15 minutes long, just long enough to briefly get acquainted and for them to get an idea of how they might help. I know that for an extremely shy person, 15 minutes can be tough, but knowing that its only 15 minutes can make it seem easier to face.

Good luck!
