The worry never ends
hi ladies....
this past weekend I started having really, really bad gas pains - or what I thought to be gas pains. Saturday was manageable but by Sunday afternoon it was full on unbearable. I didn't feel any tightening in my abdomen, so I thought I was fine. But when I took a shower and laid down, I could barely breath. I went to the restroom to potty and saw blood when I wiped.
Of course I flipped out, but thankfully my husband stayed calm and got me to the ER in record time (I don't even want to know how fast he was going).
Fast-forward to me being taken to L&D for triage, all the while crying my eyes out. the nurses were so amazing - very soothing and comforting.
They ran every single test and did every test they could on me....and it turns out I was severely and dangerously dehydrated - like my keytones were off the chart, they could not even record the number (and it should be negative). I WAS having contractions - every three minutes. but my cervix was long and closed, I was not dilating and I was not leaking any fluids. it was all because I was so dehydrated, my uterus starting contracting, which put pressure on my cervix, which caused the bleed.
I don't have to tell you the fear I felt - that I was losing my babies and there wasn't a damn thing I could do about it.
But that was not the case, and my high-risk doctor (who I already had an appt with this past Tuesday) said everything looked great and I really didn't need to worry - just DRINK, DRINK, DRINK at least a gallon a day. it's hard to get it down, but i'll do whatever i have to.
I am so thankful for the staff there and for my DH who was so calm when I was about to lose my mind.

I am so glad you are ok honey. I can\'t even imagine how you were feeling. My husband is the same always calm when I met him to be. Sending you lots of love and hugs.
Sooo thankful that you and the babies are okay!!! Go sit out in the sun and you\'ll want to drink a gallon of water haha! Those DHs are pretty amazing aren\'t they?!? Praying daily for strength to make it through the days! xoxo
I am so glad to hear you are ok!! So scary and I am sorry you had to go through all that. Keep hydrated also have you checked out this book http://www.barnesandnoble.com/listing/2670227364490?r=1&cm_mmc=GooglePLA-_-Book_15To24-_-Q000000633-_-2670227364490
If you haven\'t I highly recommend it. It totally changed my attitude about my pregnancy and really had no idea HOW different a multiples pregnancy is from a singleton. My Drs never made me feel like I should think otherwise, which really bothered me.
Get plenty of rest (HUGS)
Glad it work out and tgat they got things under control.
Oh my gosh, I am so glad you are okay! That is really scary.
Wow that is incredible, I had no idea dehydration could do so much damage. I am sooooo happy that all is well!
Glad everything went well and that it was just dehydration! You need to get one of those huge bottles of water and carry it around with you everyday!
thanks everyone! I am peeing every 10 minutes, so you know it\'s working :-)
I\'m so glad you and the babies are okay! Stay well.
How scary. I\'m so happy you\'re alright friend. Drink, drink, drink!!
Wow, that is so scary, glad everything is ok now!
Wow, scary stuff, is it because of your blood pressure? or had you just not been drinking enough? Im sure I read high blood pressure can cause cramps and abdominal pain and dehydration??? Thinking of you, wish we could all have worry free pregnancies!
Nedico - it was totally dehydration. my BP has been perfect, even if the ER is was good. I am drinking my booty off, and hopefully this won\'t happen again!
Oh my, that must have been so horrible! I\'m happy to hear it is just dehydration, and you can fix it! I\'m sure drinking all of that is hard, but you can do it! Good luck!!
Sorry about the scare, big hugs!! XO
