The Wonder of Nature.............
I use to work with a guy who owned a camp on a lake. One summer, he decided to rent it out so I took it for a week back when I was married.
I can remember that first evening at the camp, we were sitting on the shore in these big, comfortable, Adirondack chairs and listening to the water splash against the shore. There was a loon off in the distance, letting us know he was there. A gentle breeze blew by us both as the tree tops danced and there was something almost spiritual about the moment!...It was like the trees and the water were saying to us, "Thankyou for being our guests today! We are so happy you are joining us!" As time went by, we would sometimes talk about that moment when we felt like we were one with nature. It was a meditative moment that made us both feel unbelievably content and at peace. So magical. A moment we never forgot.

A nice, thoughtful interpretation.
I live in city and so much miss nature. I think it's good for the soul. Thank you for reminding me it still exist.
Is very true. I also feel that peace and wonder near the water.(especially at the beach)
Bob I spent a lot of time in Maine it was an annual trip to fly out of Moosehead Lake and into a lake at the base of Mount Katahdin we also spent time White River Rafting on the Kennebec and Penobscot Rivers we became one with nature it was an annual trip that we all look forward to
That is wonderful! Cherish those special moments as memories...they soothe our ragged edges!
I lived on Baileys mistake (harbor: Lubec Maine ) as a kid. That solitude with nature all around has been a part of me. For a long time I lost that and now am blessed to live in a town that is mostly park and preservation land. There’s a pond down the lane that I walk by and reflect. Silence. Started that walk on my first day sober and I have grown from that wholesome energy. My treasure, my opening heart.
So calming. This reminds me of a photo I have of my niece's wedding reception of a table next to a lake.
Thanks for sharing, Bob.
A great post bob
I live on 34 acres and I always see something new nearly everyday. . One day it was the many oak trees surrounding the horse fields. The tops of the oak trees were orange. . it must of been the setting sun. that is the only time I had the trees change color. Those moments are rare and you will always remember that moment
What a beautiful memory!
Moments like that are to be cherished. Sounds so peaceful.
Thanks Bill. Yes you should do those things again if you can afford to. Makes one feel alive!
Thankyou Barry .... When I wake up in the morning I sometimes ask myself, "What new memory can I make for myself today?"
Thankyou Sagelife Sometimes I go to you tube and search nature videos. like waterfalls if I want to relax.
Thankyou veggie... I love the beach too.
Thankyou Yorman, ...I have never gone white water rafting in my life. Always wanted to but probably won't now. I have never been to katadin but have hiked nearly every other mountain in Maine.
.Thankyou Mid. That's very poetic! Yes, we all have those ragged edges that need attention once in awhile.
Thankyou finallyawakenow....Lubec is the other side of all those blueberry fields. Beautiful country over there.
Thankyou Loriemar.... Photos are nice. They help us remember. You just gave me an idea.
Thankyou Flash.
Thankyou Trisha9054 ... Yes I have seen those rare occurances when the treetops were orange from the setting sun but it's been a long time. Most people don't notice things like that. It's special.
Thankyou Aronia for sharing your memories as well.
Thankyou Annie....I think my middle name should have been Peace!
