the way to this cat's stomach is through his heart//marina with a and j//still sick grrrr
so k calls me today and says,
"the way to a man's heart is through his stomach...
well the way to this cat's stomach is through his heart."
and he starts laughing.
he has discovered that "the cat that refuses to eat" and is wasting away - skin and bones .... will only eat, if you give him several minutes or more of one on one attention. wtf?
the cat came into rescue because it wasn't eating at the pound, and at the house where it was living after its owner died, it wasn't eating and that person thought the cat was being bullied out of food by the other animals, so brought it to the pound.
i thought it came from a house with dogs, and put the food high up for it to eat and that was why it decided to eat a little for me when i was visiting k's house. nope. it was that i was sitting there waiting and as soon as i left, it stopped eating. it took TWO WEEKS to figure all this out. two weeks of multiple kinds of moist food, kmr, nutrical, dry food, bottle feed (which it refuses to do). then people food, chicken and beef broth, fish, pork, crab....all warmed up for him. he is lucky he is at k's during this....i hope k is right and this is it. he says the cat gobbled up two bowls so far. so the new routine will be. go to the cat's room, take a nap in there, feed it and go about one's day. then come back later and do the same. (the cat also prefers having its own room. whoever owned this cat either didn't have other pets or spoiled it a LOT. its very lappy. wants to sit on your lap all day). big beautiful solid white himalayan mix with blue eyes. i hope it works out as he seems to like this one as much as he liked big boy his black himalayan mix, who died from the recalled food a few years ago and charlie who was a gorgeous purebred siamese himalayan, who used to soil (five years later and he is still in our thoughts mostly because k always asks). i wonder myself though, the woman who adopted him was leash- training him. he was the gentlest cat we ever had in our rescue - super sweet natured - where are you charlie?
i am still sick. felt fine this morning and slept great, and then as it got dark out and colder, started feeling awful (or eating lasagna for dinner was too heavy while sick?). i have a pile of paperwork for work, hobby and home that i wanted to get done and got none of it done yet. talked to rn, as she had her 18 year old cat put down. she says she had a wake by accident, put the body on the ground in her yard to dig a hole and alllll the animals in the house came out to see it, dogs and cats. she also found a tumor on her other older cat and she thinks the reason the antibiotics didn't work when it was ill recently, was because of the tumor. her older dog is also ill, he has hip problems. so she isn't having a good day.
went to the marina. was supposed to go out on a boat, there are two out there, before it gets too cold. really wish i would do that.

I hope the clingy kitty finds a good home! My Angela is a love whore... she\'s always meowing for attention.
I hope you find a home for that kitty, too! I bet it was owned by a sweet little old lady who just doted on it. Hope you start feeling better soon! *HUGS*
Our cats are always teaching us how to serve them! We just have to pay attention! LOL..WE are the servants! THEY are the masters, and they know it!
Sorry you still feel like poo! Eat light woman!! The tummy needs to be busy circulating blood to sick areas of the body....not digesting lunch. Hit salads and water for a couple of days and tummy will do a better job of healing that body up!!!
So says Dr. Darla!....blah, blah!! LOL.....
well, that cat, this is october 30, is doing much better. still toooo thin, but WILL eat as long as time is spent with him first. so now to fatten him up.
we are now having reams of trouble with an adopter. am pretty sure she has done all of this before. she is number 2 for this. she wants animals at cost. that is fine, our costs are HIGHER than what we charge. so she says no, she wants animals at partial cost or for whatever we get it for at the onset. hmmmmm. wtf? i had a bengal person try this crap and thought we\'d \"fall\" for this. she wanted to foster BENGALS and just one other kind. i told her after someone is with us a couple of years and has done at least 100 fosters, they can foster a siamese, but not a bengal. (bengals cost around $900 retail) and even with siamese which are a few hundred retail, they often don\'t want to release them for adoption. foster parents are given pick of the litter when they foster an ordinary litter, and only if they want to...how about GO TO BENGAL RESCUE, pay the fees and adopt and same with SIAMESE rescue. never heard from that one after that. yay! this woman though, adopted from us before and i think she made trouble before....she was nervous, which means she makes trouble a lot and her husband kept shushing her. so now we are at war. here we go. this is why people stop doing rescue. its not the animals at all. its the asshole people like this one. i said to her, would you like to call kmart and complain about target. hmmmm or would you like to call westinghouse to say that target sold you the fridge for more money. hmmm what a surprise. what a jerk you are lady. and we do this at a loss to begin with. i told her to go on line to adopt. we are half the price of all the other purebred rescues to begin with. i am about to go into a hate you rant so i\'ll go over to my prompts to do that.
