The Use of Hyaluronic Acid in Non-surgical Rhinoplasty

The vascular supply to the nose is located in either the nasal SMAS or the layers superficial to the SMAS. Arterial supply to the nose is derived from the internal carotid artery and the external carotid artery. The primary terminal branch of the ophthalmic artery supplying the skin and soft tissue of the nose is the dorsal nasal artery, with contributions from the external nasal branch of the anterior ethmoid artery. The primary external carotid artery branch that supplies the nose is the facial artery, with a contribution from the maxillary artery. As the facial artery courses superiorly, it gives off the superior labial artery, which supplies the columellar artery; the anterior lateral nasal artery; and the angular artery.
Juvéderm 2 is relatively soft and malleable product and has very little lifting power. It is therefore ideal for postrhinoplasty defects where small volumes are required to smooth out minor surface imperfections. For primary nonsurgical rhinoplasty, other fillers are often used, such as Juvéderm Voluma, and these other fillers have greater cohesivity and therefore greater lifting and volumizing power. We chose to use Juvéderm Ultra 2 and Voluma; however, we acknowledge that there are several excellent HA fillers available for a surgeon to use. We believe it is important 超声刀 英文 to state which filler was used as the two options we used are so different and yet the outcomes were so similar, that we believe it probably does not matter which fillers are used. The choice of product was made through empirical data and surgeon experience.

In addition, nose filler can be injected at the level of the bone, directly onto the recently fractured periosteum. This may stimulate a periosteal reaction to create bone, or it could be that the injected HA becomes incorporated into bone callus formation. Without histological analysis of biopsied samples, we cannot be certain.
The measurement of the columella labial angle in women is usually 95 to 125 degrees and, in men, 90 to 100 degrees. The external nasal sensitivity is mediated by the ophthalmic and maxillary branches, which are branches of the trigeminal nerve. The sensitivity of the cephalic part, radix, nasion, and the lateral faces of the nose are innervated by the branches of the supratrochlear nerve and infratroclear, which are branches of the ophthalmic nerve. The external nasal branch of the ethmoidal nerve emerges between the nasal bone and the superior lateral cartilage, innervating the part of the nasal tip to the columella. FACE‐Q nose adverse effect score 1 week post‐treatment compared to 48 h posttreatment, Wilcoxon signed‐rank test. We present cases that illustrate the use of this approach and suggest three possible patient management.

Eyelid surgery ranked first among surgical procedures worldwide in the 2024 ISAPS survey. Others want upper-lid lift, under-eye fat repositioning, or a fresher but culturally natural eye shape. We can inject hyaluronidase to dissolve the filler and return your nose to its original shape.
They conclude that both methods have their advantages, but highlight the potential safety benefits of using cannulas in sensitive facial regions such as the nose (Level IIb). There are several manufacturers of fillers and within each manufacturer's product line, there are several different types of filler available. All HA fillers are different and Juvéderm 2 has its own unique properties. Juvéderm 2 is available in 0.5 mL syringes and the mean injection volume was 0.23 mL.
The procedure is designed to restore the desired facial symmetry and to make the nasal contour more appealing. The main indications are correction of asymmetries and contour irregularities and for correction of nasal angles both in the postoperative rhinoplasty patients as well as primary medical rhinoplasty candidates. Redaelli [1] used Hyaluronic Acid at nasofrontal angle, radix and tip. Results Laser Clinic offers dermal filler treatments at over 40 clinic locations across Australia, including Sydney (20+ locations), Melbourne (8 locations), Brisbane (5 locations), Canberra, Perth, Newcastle, Wollongong, and the Central Coast. Most clients describe the sensation as mild discomfort rather than pain. The filler products used at Results Laser Clinic contain built-in local anaesthetic (lidocaine), and we also apply numbing cream before treatment.

It also has a very low risk of creating a bluish tint under the skin (the Tyndall effect), which can sometimes occur with other fillers when injected close to the surface. Fillers placed at the chin can improve its projection and shape, creating a more defined profile. Along the jawline, fillers restore structure and definition that has softened with age or was never strongly present to begin with.
Skin quality improvement and balanced anti-aging treatments often travel best across cultures because they focus on health, freshness, and proportion. Get a personalized treatment plan, transparent pricing, and full support from our international medical team. Still, some broad patterns appear repeatedly in academic literature, clinical reviews, and international procedure trends. Results typically last between months depending on the type of filler used and your body's metabolism.
The new supratip break is visualized by cranially retracting the lobule with the middle finger of the nondominant hand, using the thumb finger as a hinge on the nasal dorsum. The needle enters the skin midline, exactly at the desired point of the supratip break, sliding just above the cartilage and pointing toward the interdomal space. With the middle finger still retracting the lobule, the thumb and index fingers of the nondominant hand pinch the domes. With the retraction component of the maneuver, a virtual space between the cartilage and subcutaneous tissues is created, whereas the pinching prevents lateral domal displacement, resulting in a boxy tip.

This is most commonly observed in areas with thin skin, such as the lower eyelids, and can persist for several years if not treated promptly. Hyaluronidase, which requires multiple treatment sessions, is the preferred therapy for large-particle or highly crosslinked HA [29,126]. AI‐powered robotic systems like ARTAS have improved accuracy and reproducibility in aesthetic procedures like laser and hair transplantation. AI‐driven real‐time feedback minimizes room for error, optimizes outcomes, and enhances the safety of procedures.
All the procedures performed in this study were in accordance with the 1964 Helsinki Declaration and its later amendments or comparable ethical standards. The authors received no financial support for the research, authorship, and publication of this article, including payment of the article processing charge. The authors acknowledge Sanjay Rai of Berkeley Square Medical for his assistance in preparing this manuscript and Gianluca Bianchi, registered nurse, who performed most of the treatments in this case series. In fact, the use of needle-cannulas involves an entrance hole located at the tip and two working areas that follow the nasal profile in the two directions.

Pricing reflects Sydney’s higher operating costs and averages $1,100–$1,800 for doctor-led treatment. The recognition of ischemia, the most dangerous complication, is critical. Signs of pallor, livedo, and/or local pain during or immediately after the procedure should be treated immediately with the application of hyaluronidase.
Liquid rhinoplasty is generally safe when performed by a qualified, experienced provider. However, the nose is considered a high-risk injection zone due to the complex vascular anatomy. Rare but serious risks include vascular occlusion (blocked blood vessels), which can cause skin necrosis or, in extremely rare cases, vision changes. These risks are dramatically reduced when the procedure is performed by a provider with extensive nasal anatomy training who uses HA fillers (reversible with hyaluronidase) and maintains emergency protocols.
