The ups and downs

First, I am wondering why I am seeing posts from several years ago.  I tend to read them without reading the date

So.  We got our Covid shots last week. My llttle tribe of wrinklies have gotten shots too so we should be okay to hang out soon!  We have been meeting outdoors from time to time but it is still pretty cold so the visits aren't long.  

I am still trying to stay fit.  I walked 6 kilometres today (4 miles) and did the eqivalent of 6 or 7 flights of stairs.  Most of the climbing happens at the end of the walk as our condo is at the top of the hill.  It just about did me in as my winter walks have been shorter.  I have acid reflux tonight and would like to attribute it to the enormous amount of excercise I did!  To be honest, it is probably the beer I had with dinner....

Update on the family.  I am not sure if I mentioned that Cevyn was in a relationship.  She was smitten.  He seemed like THE one.  I met him and was uncomfortable.  Well my granny radar was right.  He had been a drinker but was clean.  I got a bit worried when he got drunk and was verbally abusive.  She assured me that everything was good.  (Never believe a girl wearing rose coloured glasses)  Then a couple of weeks ago, they got engaged.  I got really worried but was glad to hear they were planning on a wedding in a year or 2.  Well, I guess he went oa a bender and drank so much he had to go to emerg to have his stomach pumped.  Cevyn opened his computer and found that he had been communicating with other women.  Cevyn is her mother's daughter.  She packed up all his stuff and evicted him.  He tried to justify everything but she is smart enough to know it is over.  

The good thing is that they had just rented a brand new townhouse with 3 bedrooms and a den.  She was worried about having to pay rent on her own but her step brother was looking to move out and is renting a room and helping with the rent.  He comes with a little yappy dog named Estelle - Stella for short.  The girls like having a cat and a dog!  

Cevyn has not been able to work much this year as the spas are either closed or slow because of Covid.  She had started looking for other jobs and started a new one at a Sephora brow bar yesterday.  I'm not exactly  sure what a brow bar is but she is happy. She said she was sick of doing pedicures.  I hope all goes well.  I am gathering she will be dealing with the top rather than the toes.

The twins are happy little preschoolers!  They spend Sunday night to Thursday evening with Cevyn and the weekends with their dad.  They are happy when Brendan picks them up on Thursday and happy when Cevyn picks them up on Sunday.  Brendan and Cevyn are getting along a lot better too.  They are now discussing school for the girls in September and seem to be on the same page.  I am so relieved as they were not communicating much for awhile.

Life is a series of ups and downs.  Easter is just around the corner.  I am excited because we will be going to spend it with Andrew and Tiina.  It will be the first time we've seen them since October.  I really don't care if the province shuts down again - we are going!
