The twins are 4

It is hard to believe that the twins are now 4year olds!  They are delightful, feisty little girls who run Granny and Poppa ragged - but we love every minute of it!

It is also stressful for us.  Lisa's 11th angelversary is on Dec 1 so I keep thinking back to how excited she was to be having surgery. She had airline tickets for them to come home to Alberta for the first time since they moved to Ottawa.  How things change.

I'm not sure if I mentioned that Cevyn and Brendan broke up quite awhile back.  Both he and Cevyn are now in new relationships.  Brendan is getting pissy about their custody arrangement.  They agreed that Cevyn would have them from Sunday evening to Thursday evening.  Brendan would have them over the weekend.  It worked well until the last while.  He is trying to change the arrangement which would disrupt her work schedule - she works Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Cevyn and Connor are planning to move about an hour away from Ottawa and is trying to stop it.  I don't know why because the drive is about the same to his parents' house (where he now lives).  He apparently has talked to a lawyer so she called one for the half hour free chat and was told he couldn't do that.

I am sure he is just ticked because Cevyn and the girls are happy with the arrangement.  Jealous, angry, vindictive?  Maybe a bit of all 3.  He asked her how she would feel if he and his girlfriend decided to move - she said she would work with him to make it work. He was a bit surprised.  I think he and his parents never really liked Cevyn.  They think she enticed him in to the relationship by getting pregnant.  It is not true.  He pursued her for a long time before they got together.  She would never deprive them of their dad and grandparents.  It worked for a couple of years but he really hadn't grown up.  As Cevyn said, she should probably have left sooner but was trying to make it work.

The girls seem to be getting used to the arrangement, though Bella told me that she wanted to stay with Mummy today.  I told her that she should go with Daddy because there would be more presents!  They try to be civil around the girls but I am sure it affects them.  Luckily they love Connor.  She didn't let him see them for a couple of months.  He adores the girls and worries that Cevyn and Brendan may get back together.  She is ticked enough now that I really don't see that happening.

It is 3:30 am.  My insomnia night.  I have them from time to time.

I just feel like crying and it makes my pillowslip wet!  So here I am whining to you - the folks that understand these ups and downs.

Lisa:  I miss you more than ever.  Sierra and Bella's birthdays are bittersweet as I know how over the moon you would be, and how much you would spoil them rotten.  They get a lot of love from a lot of people but there is nobody who can really replace you.  I miss you always and love you forever, Mummy

The twins are FOUR!!! OH, how can it be!! What a delight they are, even if an exhausting delight (LOL) to you and Joe!

I SOOOOO hope and pray Brendan and Cevyn can get all the details worked out and both their decisions and actions will always be first and foremost about what is best for the girls. It seems Cevyn has always been the more mature, responsible one in the relationship. I hope Brendan will realize it's not all about him, and jealousy, and most definitely vindictive behavior, have NO place in co-parenting and raising happy, healthy, compassionate children. I wish my own co-parenting situation had gone much differently. I understand the struggles. (((hugs))) and love to Cevyn!

OH that darn insomnia!!! I feel for ya my friend! It doesn't happen as often now, but I still do have those sleepless nights with my mind running amok! I hope yours doesn't last too long and you can get some much needed sleep soon. Do you nap during the day? Do you take anything at night to help you sleep? I'm not a napper, and I've tried a few over the counter sleep aides, but none seem to really help. My doctor gave me a prescription and it does work, but I'm fearful of the named side affects (like sleep DRIVING!), so I don't take it unless I have two or more sleepless nights....and then I make my husband hide the car keys! Scary to think there are people out driving around who are actually asleep. I don't even know how that is possible, yet my doctor said it can happen.

Thank you for sharing your heart so openly. I feel so blessed to have this space for that very purpose and reason.

I HEAR you! I SEE you! And I LOVE you!

(((hugs)))

Oh my gosh, I cannot believe those babies are four now! I cannot even believe that my baby girl is 5 now and in pre-school. Seems not long ago that she was put into my arms right after her birth. Her other grandmother recently confided to me that she was "pissed" that I got to hold her first LOL. I never gave it a thought, I was so enthralled when my son handed me that baby girl. I hope and pray that Cevyn and Brendan will work together to do what is best for the girls. I pray that Jason and Shannon stay together and raise my Ellie. Honestly, I do not want her to come from a broken home. She loves her Mommy and Daddy so much. I am sorry about your insomnia. I do not suffer from it much, probably because I drink before going to bed and also have an amazing bed set up. I have a 4 inch topper on my memory foam mattress and it is like sleeping on a cloud! I do not sleep during the day, no matter how tired I feel, due to fear of not sleeping at night. Love and Hugs to you

4? What a blessing!!!
I'm sorry Brennen is pissy, raising chilren is hard, even harder when pissy enters the picture. Been there done that. Hopefully he realizes it's not about HIM...
Sorry you've been experiencing insomnia... lack of proper sleep can be devastating after a while... i get choppy sleep... the hubby's snoring wakes me up ALL the time!!! I seriously can see how couples have seperate sleeping rooms!!!
I miss you!!!
I hope you and Joe are staying healthy..

Love and hugs

Hi Marlene, awww, your precious twins are 4, already?! Where does the time go? I bet they are absolutely delightful and I can imagine they are busy learning and taking in everything around them. How precious!
I’m sorry Brendan is being difficult. Cevyn sounds like she is handling things well and is approaching the situation with a mature outlook and putting the girls’ needs first. What a wonderful mummy! She learned well from Lisa. And moving a reasonable distance away is understandable. Brendan really needs to work with her. I’m glad she’s with a nice man who is good to the girls.

Eleven years...it was Ed’s 11th in September. I understand your sadness. Ed has grandchildren now & he would have been an amazing grandpa. Ken and I try to “stand in the gap” and support the grandchildren as he would have. I know you and Joe are very involved with Sierra and Bella and a huge support to Cevyn. But it hurts; Lisa should be here-I’m so sorry.
I struggle with insomnia too. Melatonin has helped me and I like that it’s natural.
Sending you and dearest Lisa lots of love from Ed and me, Linda

Marlene, Four years how the time goes. I know you and Joe are such a support to your Cevyn and hoping the best interest of the girls remains the upper most important ourcome. Its hard for two people to get to the right way at times, it takes being maturity as Cevyn is trying hope it rubs off on Brendan.
Lisa is so proud of how you and Joe help with the littles. The connection will always be there. Sending you some peace for the holidays and of course on Lisa's Angel Day. Hugs, Kathy
