The Tree
Well my tree is up , shaped and I threw lights on it but I'm not decorating it just yet. Looking across the room, I see a spot here or there where I ned to readjust my lights or fluff a bald spot. I willl put other decorations around then finish the tree tonight.

yeay!!! is time for presents???
My tree is not up yet. Will do it this weekend. Nothing fancy either.
You sound good! I have a Christmas mailbox. It is decorated in lights & my favorite ornaments. I found this Vintage 3 ft Sant at thrift shop. (Love thrift shopping) . Rudolph & his sleigh sits below as well as some vintage toys.. I love Christmas. Enjoy!!!
We got our tree up as well this week. I need to get into the Christmas spirit.
Brooke, your decorations sound gorgeous. I also do love the look of vintage stuff.
My tree has all white lights and collected, homemade and gifted ornaments (from craft shows ....) I'm not into the new fangled stuff. , the simple things mean more to me.
Mary, I have readjusted the lights, had trouble with the damn ribbons dangling from the bow at top (too long for tree and couldn't bear to cut them ) but finally gave in and decided it was good enough. It's like you say, nothing fancy and anyone who comes will be here for one day so why worry. So my decorating is done.
Kim, once you get the tree done and the other decorating the spirit will start to sink in. Chase the grinch away. Haha
What? I lost the thred of who was speaking, but chasing the Grinch away from Christmas---what a sad thought. If we go to the end of the movie, fast forwarding through bells and tartinglers and deco-thievery and Max the Wonder Dog suspended topside down from his faux Christmas sleigh loaded with stolen toys and cookie bits too small for the mice to eat, we at last find The Grinch as the character who learned after his heart grew two sizes that Christmas isn't about the food or the decorations or gifts under a tree, just finding ways to be hand in hand from our hearts with people we know and don't know, or want to hug in person but can only hug in our hearts and spend quiet appreciative Christmas moments with in our best pieces of good grief.
Anyone who comes to your home won't be seeing the tree, which you will outshine in spirit and caring for others, as those of us responding to you would I think all be agreeing to.
Merry Christmas to You, Kim and others who celebrate. To those of you who look to other ways of seeing God, hugs and love to you. To those who see reason or resonance or other principles of relating to others, hugs to you as well. I'm thankful for DS and the opportunity to hear many voices all capable of caring and concern and appreciation for each other. Thank you for being such a leader in this via DS! Hoping you have a chance to enjoy your tree fluffed just as it is, think your deep private thoughts, and as you have chance enjoy family and friend and creative written and artistic connections.
Happy Holy Days, and Happy Retirement!
Thank you too Liam and I also wish the very happiest of holidays,
PS If you got confused I was not posting to myself but my sometimes evil twin (we take turns lol) Her name is Kim also and we are 10 yrs apart (she's the young one, I am the antique)
Best to invest in psychiatrist VQ/Kim. Split personality is treatable with included rubber room and straight jackets for both! LoL
Split Personality is indeed treatable, but I'm set to believing that most health insurance bills by the patient so expect twice the billings...
