The surprising effects of change.
Hi everyone, I have been thinking about how seemingly positive thingssuch as spring weather can trigger negative feelings and thoughts. For example with the good weather, I am spending more time outsidein the yard or in front of my house, and I am confronted with the poorrelationships I have with my neighbours and most people my community. It triggers feelings of hopless because I am inclined to think that there isno way to improve these connections and make things more positive betweenus. The truth is that I do not have the courage to try to improve things becausethis would involve risk, what if they treat me coldly, reject me or are just plainlyrude? Most time I do not want to find out, but I know that if I want things to bebetter it is I who need to put effort and time into improving things. I will let you know what happens. with peace and friendship to all!!

Oh my dear friend, if I lived next door to you, we\'d be great friends. I tend to agree with you though about the risk, butttttttt, it just may be worth it. Give it a try. You\'re in my thoughts.
Good luck, sweet friend. There are two things you can do. Leave things the way they are and ignore the neighbors, or take to risk of rejection by trying to improve the relationships. Whatever you do, remember to keep your options open. Most times, we fear being stuck against a wall because we limit ourself to only one action. By thinking of possible scenarios, you create options to save yourself. When things start to go sour, take another option. There are multiple ways to deal with any situation. Big hugs, Oli
Have you read the book its a new earth yet? I know you like these kinds of books and I think you will get something from it. Wishing you positive thoughts and sunny days.
I hear you! There is a risk, yes, of facing fear, facing awkwardness and possible rejection. I agree with waiting4paradise - the risk might just be worth it, and we won\'t know until we try. Just one thing at a time though. I wish you all the best with it. A strategy to take things slowly, perhaps with one neighbour at a time, for example, might be one way to go? Thinking of you and hoping you\'re having a wonderful weekend! hugs and friendship, Emma. x
Hi Ida! :) There is much positives to be gained. i also cope with shyness, around neighbors. i have tried to become more social over the past year, and i\'ve had some success. i\'ve learned, that trying, really does make us feel great. making an effort. You have every right though, to avoid those potential social situations. either way you decide to take, i support you, and i will always be so very proud of you. :)
i\'ve been spending more time outside in the yard, and gardening areas. i love spring, and it\'s theraputic for me to spend some time in the yard, and garden. what matters most, is what makes you smile, what makes you happy. You enjoy your time in the yard, and deserve to enjoy those special times while you\'re outside. no one will judge you angel. keep focused on your activities in the yard, whether it\'s cleaning, or planting flowers, fruits, and vegetables, and if you\'d like, a friendly wave, is always nice. :)
i wish you the very best. i want you to know, i completely understand, and you are not alone. big sunny hugs! :)
I know it is hard to interact with neighbors sometimes. I am not real friendly or open with my neighbors, but I am trying to wave or smile at them when I see them. I also try to say Hi or wave at neighbors when I am walking, it is hard and sometimes I fail to do it-but I just keep on trying! Yesterday my neighbor went by in his big noisy truck and I looked away for a minute, but then I looked back just in time to wave at him and he honked his horn! It made me feel good:0)
